Dashimus (255) - London, Greater London, - MAY 25, 2013
Bottle from Vinbudin, Reykjavík. Pours black with a thick, voluminous tan head that is persistent to the end. Aroma is roasted malt, coffee, milk chocolate. Nicely balanced aroma. Maybe even a hint of golden Virginia tabacco. Flavour is moderately bitter with a medium sweetness. Very long and dry finish. Disappointingly a little thin bodied but creamy mouthful nonetheless. Possible aftertaste of dark fruits very subtle.

hauxe (937) - Butzbach, Hesse, GERMANY - AUG 9, 2017
Draft at the Microbar in Reykjavik. Black with a tan head. Aroma has strong roasted notes, but also burnt rubber & circuitry. Taste is bitter, dry, somewhat monotone with a dry, roasted bitterness. Body is medium, oily. Not the best example of the style.

Draft. A black beer with a brown head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt and straw. The flavor is sweet with roasted malt and wet hay, leading to a bitter finish.

Bottle from a Vínbúdin in Reykjavik. Mahogany with a frothy cream head. Liquorice aroma. The taste has lots of liquorice too along with spice and a slight smoky metal twang. Quite rich. Decent.

Bottle. Almost black color with light brown foam. Pleasant aroma of roasted malt, vanilla, caramel sweetness and dried fruits. Taste: sweet, burnt and roasted malt, caramel, a little wine, a little bitter.

From Tony, thanks. Near black, slightly roast coffee aroma, cocoa. Flavour is a bit lacking, light coffee and licorice, milk chocolate... Not bad!

Quite black with some head. Tastes of chocolate, cocoa, coffee, nuts and spruce. Medium-heavy, creamy body, smooth carbonation and a finish of chocolate and coffee. Smooth and chocolaty stout

Bottle in Belgrade. Thanks Vlada! Thick black coffee pour, some soap bubbles. Roast coffee, some balsamic vinegar. Metallic, a little sweet-sharp not creamy. Cool sharp stout. Really delicious.
