COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The laws protecting the brewing of kolsch are as strict as the German Purity Law of 1516. Kolsch beer can only be brewed within the city of Cologne. As the best-known kolsch brewery, Gaffel’s flavor is derived from an ale yeast that is "lagered" (or aged) in cold cellars. Gaffel is pale, faintly fruity with a crisp, hop finish. Enjoy as an aperitif or digestif.

Pours a light straw colored body with a large white head. Aroma is mildly sweet with grainy, grassy and a weird faint metallic smell. Flavor is grassy, grains, citrus and very light spice. Light bodied, thin texture.

Pours a clear light golden with no bubbles and a large sudsy airy white head. Huge grassy aroma, I love that, some light maltiness & bread/fruit. Very light flavor with a light watery body that feels ever so slightly heavy in the mouth, light crisp carbonation. A very easy drinking beer that isn’t completely boring for how light it is. Faint breadiness, a bit of sweet malt and sour grassiness. A bit cookie like. A nice dry kolsch, the sweet ones are really annoying.

Canned(500ml). -from gas station nead Köln.
Pale golden coloured, medium sized white head, low carbonation. Slight malty, hoppy and faint fruity taste with flowery mild hoppy finish. Pleasant and refreshing but Küppers is better.

Bottle. High creamy and lasting white head. Clear yellow body. Dinstinct, simple but good barley malt aroma. Thin, weak, sweet barley malt flavor with low carbonation, little hops bitterness and a short sweet aftertaste.

On draught @ The Raleigh Times. Not my favorite style but I wanted something on tap and the only other thing they had at the time was witbier or PBR. Clear golden yellow in the glass. Muted nose. Flavour was grassy, watery and finished with a pleasant dry crispness. Like I said, not my favorite style, but hit the spot, nonetheless.

Light yellow colored with little white head. Bitingly hopped aroma with thin flowers, good one. Medium bodied. Flavor starts with biting hops, lemon also here. Aftertaste is rather dry and biting. Not too balanced for my taste, good aroma.

Botella. Clear golden with a big nice creamy pure white well lasting head leaving a good lacing. Aroma of corn with bitter tones. Good mouthfeel. The flavour has a pleasant maltiness with corn and a tickeling bitterness. Dry malty mildly bitter finish.

[Bottle from Alexander.] Ok Kölsch, not too sweet and you can enjoy it in the heat not getting bored of it.
