COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The laws protecting the brewing of kolsch are as strict as the German Purity Law of 1516. Kolsch beer can only be brewed within the city of Cologne. As the best-known kolsch brewery, Gaffel’s flavor is derived from an ale yeast that is "lagered" (or aged) in cold cellars. Gaffel is pale, faintly fruity with a crisp, hop finish. Enjoy as an aperitif or digestif.

330 bottle poured into Leffe chalice. Golden colour, small head which didn’t hang around long, kept some lacing, clear. Aroma combined Chardonay grape with a really fresh bitter hoppy North German Pils aroma. Tasted Chardonay grape, fruits, had a light sourness. Finsh was bitter. Well carbonated which gave it a coarse edge, body was thick for the fairly light ABV. Had the fell of Pils mixed with Sekt which is what happens in parts of Germany.

Beverina e poco amara, senza retrogusto.

So einfach Bier. Leicht und trinkbar. Kein Aroma. Süßer Geschmack. Durchschnittliche.

Bottle from German beer supermarket. I don't really understand the difference between this and any standard lager. Seems rather bland to me and not hugely fresh.

Being brought up on Altbier it is hard to be objective on Kölsch. I tried, and sampled a number, still I am not into it. Gaffel seems to me as one of the upper midrange Kölsch. Drinkable.

Draft. Pours clear golden with a nice off white head providing light fruit, grass, and bready aromas. Taste is medium sweet, balanced with a good hop presence. I think this Kolsch had good flavor while being sessionable, and is highly underrated.

Tomada en restaurante del centro de Colonia. Entra como agua, está bien combinada con un sauerkraut, un buen codillo y mucha patata. Sola no entra igual.Colonia.

This kolsch poured a light yellow colour with a bright white, foamy head. Minimal lacing. Scents include corn and oats. First swig was quite thin with flavours of corn and must. Finish was lightly bitter with hop flavour lingering n the palate.

Dcouverte par Mickael. Bire dore trs belle mousse. Nez fleurie. Bouche douce et pas trop amre. Premire Klsch pour moi! Pas mal.
