COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A classic US-style pale ale brewed with 4 iconic hop varietals. It’s full-flavoured with piny-citrus hop character and loads of caramel malts, balanced by a refreshing bitterness.

Pours golden with some cloudy haze - thin head... Nice smell - lots of dry hopping, with peach and citrus character on the nose, and a nice malt profile to back up the juicy hops. Palate is a bit thin - could have a better mouth feel. I like it - fresh, fruity and similar to a modus pale ale but half the price!

Amber colour poured from the bottle. Slight citrus notes on the nose with a hint of caramel malt. Similar taste with more pine on the palate. Quite an even malt/hop balance with little perceivable bitterness.

UPDATED: SEP 3, 2016 Nice balance of hops, malt, flavour creating an easy drinking flavoursome beer at a great price. Has become a summer favourite. Very enjoyable and recommended.

4.7%ABV. American Pale Ale. Poured out amber. 12ºSRM. Nose has some nice fresh citrus and pine aromas. Mouthfeel is light soapy. Palate has some toasted malt flavor. Breadcrumbs and wheat toast. Hops are non-descript and barely there. Finish is light and beery.

UPDATED: SEP 3, 2016 Bottle from the local "Dan’s". Nicely balanced APA from the Gage Roads. Very good value for money.

UPDATED: JUN 18, 2016 This beer fills the void left by Dos Blockos Pale getting more expensive and Fat Yak getting turned into the pisswater CUB have turned it into. Relatively cheap, reliable, hoppy, well balanced. Pours a cloudy gold with foamy white head that settles quickly. Aroma is grassy hops, pine, citrus a slight bready malt profile. Not exciting but decent enough. Taste is medium sweet medium bitter. Palate is overly carbonated and a bit thin; certainly the beers weakest point.

beer-yum (1710) - Wellington, NEW ZEALAND - JUN 8, 2016
UPDATED: SEP 10, 2016 Restrained grassy aroma in a golden Amber pour. Reasonably balanced brew with a brief hint of fruity malt in the body before a laid back finish. Little trace of the four American hops used in its production though.

Easy drinking well flavoured beer. Right balance of malt alcohol and hops.

Refreshing, the long bitter finish reminds me more of a lager. Solid beer and summer time friend

One of the best value beers I’m yet to drink. Overall, I think this beer tastes better than a lot of the "premium" pale ales on the market, the cheaper price is a bonus that makes the overall experience that much sweeter (although not literally!). Quite a fruity aroma and strong-flavoured taste, but that’s how I like my pale and golden ales. Howver, unlike other similarly strong flavoured ales, I can happily get through a six pack or more of these without it becoming overpowering. Would strongly recommend! The other beers that I’ve tried out of Gage Roads Brewery are also quality.
