One of my favourite styles of beer, however this was a disappointment that failed to bring all the wonderful English ale elements of subtle hopping and malt back notes to the table. It lacked flavour and complexity. Why put a special edition brew out there when it's no good?

Bottle from Dan Murphy’s. Malty and fruity. Aromas of caramel, nuts, and peach. Taste is sweet, with average length. Palate is oily, and medium bodied. Amber, with no head. Davros (3362) - Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - OCT 18, 2012
Pours dark amber with a small, white head.
Nose shows some caramel and toffee along with some diacetyl.
Similar flavours, soft caramel and toffee.
Feels a bit watery.

Probably the best English beer brewed in Australia. Classic EKG character on the nose and palate, sessionable & tasty. A 640ml bottle is a real bonus.

640ml bottle into pint glass. Pour is translucent amber- brown with a small off-white head. Aroma is mainly caramel mats with floral hops and a touch of citrus fruitiness. Tongue is bittersweet with a decent English-style hop presence. Light-medium body with a low carbonation and easy sessionability like a good English ale. Less sweet than Burleigh Brewing’s My Wife’s Bitter which this is obviously trying to replicate.

From a 640ml bottle on 16/9/2012. Pours a dark copper with close to nil head. Has a moderate sweet caramel malt aroma. Flavour wise, this is very malty, with more caramel, toffee and brown sugar in the mix, with some subtly spicy hops.The body is light to medium and the carbonation average. Bottle (640ml), 11C. Amber with a small off-white head. Aroma is fruity and floral with peach, light caramel, pears, a little pepper. Light bodied verging on watery, low carbonation. Modest flavours - caramel, fruit, light spices. Slightly earthy. Balancing bitterness. Dry and peppery at the end. Tried this a while ago and liked it better this time. Does what it came to do. Dark copper body topped with a thin ring of foam. Grain and a light hop aroma. Taste is malt, dark bread and a little caramel, overlaid with a mild hop zestiness. (bottle) Beer upon opening smelled unexpectedly hoppy. Poured a beautiful bright amber copper. Head did not last. Perfectly carbed for a bitter. Dans Tallie. Clean coppery colour under a white head. Sweet nutty malt and mild fruity/citrus aromas. Just a little spice in flavour and a little thin, otherwise enjoyed, though not my preferred style.
