Our tribute to the beers that once quenched the thirst of parched colonials at Admiral Gages East India station. This UK-style IPA is rich with caramel malt and overripe stone fruit character, balanced with a big bitter finish.

Without a doubt one of the best India pale ales i have tasted. Only down side is the lack of head within 30 seconds all the head that remains is a slight bit of lacing. But does not dampen the mood at all. Great strong flavour with nice citrus bitterness. Many friends who have tried this and generally are anti IPA were quite open to this style of beer. A must try and good value.

As others have mentioned this is not a knock you over the head IPA, but it is a very good entry level, go to IPA which there are few of in Australia IMO. Has moderate hop character and bitterness with a clean palate.

Amber colour, but surprisingly clean and light finish for an IPA. With a name like sleeping giant, I was expecting something bolder with more hoppiness.

Bottle - amber orange with a white head. Citrus to piney hops with an underlying caramel malt. Orange citrus and sweet malt, bitterness is sharp up front but quickly drops away. Mouthfeel is creamy, light carbonation.

330mL bottle BB 29/10/13 Mid-honey gold body, decent clarity, small white head of medium density. Aroma of moderate intensity; piney and woody spices from hops, a touch of overly ripe/dried stonefruit melds with lightly toasted cereal and honeyed malt character. Medium body with lively carbonation. Slightly oily texture. A light upfront toasty maltiness fades away to dried fruit and woody hops. Moderate-to-high bitterness, some harshness, flavour drops away on the finish, lingering minerality. An entry level American IPA. Theres plenty of APAs out there that blow this out of the water...

Aromas of jam tart, citrus, apple and a little smoke waft up from the glass, making for a pleasant smell. The palate is quite peppery with malt and a little grapefruit. It stops a bit short but is a nice beer for a warm day, and a good option if you find yourself stuck at a major liquor chain.
