COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Blueberry Ale is the perfect blend of organic local blueberries and a snappy, refreshing wheat beer. With a malt bill of almost 50% Canadian Wheat, 50% Canadian barley, and a touch of crystal malt, it’s bursting with crisp, clean malt flavours. We add real blueberry puree during fermentation which adds a subtle fruitiness and a slightly purple cast. This unfiltered brew delivers refreshing flavours without the tiresome sweetness found in most fruit beers.

Can. Hazy dark yellow with thin head. Blueberries show up in the aroma, then a refreshing straw flavour. Surprisingly good.

Tallboy from LCBO. Pours a huge frothy off-white head that leaves thick lace and has a hazy golden appearance. Some tiny sediments are visible. Some excessive carbonation. Medium retention. Aromas of wheat, grass, faint sweet malts. Flavours are very much on the wheaty and malty side, grassy and floral notes. The blueberry is a little hard to notice at first, but eventually makes a subtle appearance. Dry finish. Fizzy like moutheel. Not bad.

I found it to be easy drinking with nice light taste of blueberry. It’s pretty nice, fun beer to drink in the summer.

Sampled from the tap at Gahan House. Pours a hazy light yellow with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a good amount of sweet blueberry with sweet grains and graham cracker supporting. Flavor has straw and grain upfront with a sweet blueberry finish.

50cl bottle at the Hotel on Pownal, Charlottetown, PEI. A hazy, pale amber pour with a thin white head; blueberry aroma; and a rather tart blueberry taste over a malty body. Different and interesting, but I wouldn’t want another one.

Draft at a chez Yvonne in PEI. Hazy yellow peach colored body, tiny white head. Aroma of blueberries, bubble gum. The taste is tart with a clear finish of blueberries.

2016/08/16 - Pours a deep gold colour (with a bluish hint) and a foamy white head that slowly reduces and leaves minimal lacing. Aroma is ripe blueberry, wheat, hints of lemon and caramel and floral notes. Taste is blueberries, wheat grain and light caramel. Slightly watery. Mouthfeel is thin with smooth carbonation and a long, lightly drying finish. Ok. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Cloudy dark straw/golden color with average activity. Frothy white 2 finger head, lasting around 5-10 minutes, with weak legs. Aromas of sweet blueberries, slightly grainy, with some floral notes. Flavors of blueberries, wheat, herbal hops. Strong straw malty feel and a little bready. Metal notes and missing a little fruity sugar being highly crispy. Slick medium body with prickly carbonation. Light and short finish, ending with a sharp fruity and roasted malt feel. Overall a decent craft boosting a nice fresh fruit flavor with good freshness. Good sharp summer and session beer.

473ml can. Pours a murky caramel orange with a thin, ring of a white head. Aroma has notes of blackberry and blueberry jam, faint caramel, bread, and not a lot else. Taste is balanced. Soft caramel with smooth blueberry not syrupy sweet like other fruit beers. Medium body and carbonation. Fairly clean in the mouth with a faintly prickly carbonation. Overall an approachable fruit beer. Not sweet with blueberry, caramel, and a touch of bread and enough hops to balance it out.

500 ml bottle poured at Larry’s on red deer. Pours a hazy Amber with a thin white head. Not a lot of smell but some rotting fruit and fake blueberry there. Taste is sweet with a slight blueberry flavour. Not great.
