Thanks to JoeMcPhee for sharing - hazy amber beer - moderate lace - somewhat doughy aroma, with a little bit of nutmeg, cinnamon, and other wintery spices, as well as some cherry and raisin - the flavor is similar - doughy up front, then some warming spicy character - some raisin, plum and quite a bit of caramel - a tiny bit of diacetyl, but it doesn’t distract - not bad at all. thebeertourist (5189) - Oslo, NORWAY - JUL 25, 2010
Bottle from Cave à Bulles. The cork went into the ceiling, and on top of the copper-coloured beer is a nice, sticky, yellowish head. At first I thought chocolate aroma, but it is actually more earthy, even a bit sour fruit. Chocolate remains in the mouth, with hints of sour fruit and dusty earthiness. Very "rural" if there exists a taste term like that. Original and interesting. oldrtybastrd (5002) - Fort Walton Beach, Florida, USA - JUL 11, 2010
Bought this at the La Cave à Bulles in Paris. Pours a great amber color not like most biere de Garde. Light but strong. Caramel sweetness but not overpowering. Excellent beer. RichardGretton (4754) - Leicestershire, ENGLAND - AUG 18, 2012
Bottle. Cloudy browny coloured beer with a very strong head. The aroma is mildly malty and roasted, and the flavour is very well roasted with a fortified feel and hints of spice. Overall a very nice malty beer.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Yoav’s place. Thanks Yoav. Cloudy-opaque muddy brown colour with a dissolving frothy cream-coloured head. Earthy, grass and spices aroma, Belgian ale style taste, yeasty, sweetish and good. Full body, carbonated, sweet finish.

Poured a slightly hazed deep amber color with a medium sized cream colored head. Yeasty anbd doughy aroma with sweet caramel notes. Light fruit. Malty sweet flavor that dries out fast. Medium bodied. dEnk (4200) - Den Haag, NETHERLANDS - JUL 19, 2014
Bottle @ tasting. Aroma is huge spices, yeasty off notes and murky malt. Flavour is murky yeast cardboard with some fruits and malt. Yuck. DeanF (2453) - Alberta, CANADA - SEP 1, 2010
Stormy bubbles in an amber-brown muddy body, lots of fluffy beige head on top. Aroma is barley, chocolate, bread. Taste is a soft mix of malts and lots of alcohol on the back end, sour and dry finish. A really good bière de garde, but not the best. Fred82 (2311) - Québec City, Quebec, CANADA - OCT 24, 2012
750ml bottle from Cave à Bulle.illinismitty (2271) - Nashville, Tennessee, USA - SEP 5, 2010
Appearance : Deep shiny amber with medium head. Short retention, no lacing.
Aroma : Very malty. Lots of cereals. Nice caramel. Slightly toasted.
Taste : Malty with light caramel, almost no hops. Finish malty caramel. Faint bitterness. No alcohol.
Palate : Very strong and fizzy carbonation Pepsi™ style.
Overall : Nice malty finish, nice slightly toasted caramel. A bit simple but nothing wrong except for the carbonation that is way off. Nice persistency of the malt on the finish.
Pours medium amber with an ivory head. Aroma of faint belgian phenols. Lighter side of medium bodied with fine carbonation. Flavor of caramel and brown sugar, countered by mild herbal hops. Nothing exciting, but not horrible either .
