Second beer of the night...still thirsty after the Munich...man how humid is it in Auckland! Looks great in the glass, a shade darker than Munich and the better for it. Slightly fruity zest on the nose, this has a lighter fruitier malt/hop presence than the Munich which allows it to seem fresher and more quenching. This is a style i do love and i like the way this is more true to style than other antipodean offerings but isn’t lessened by this fact. This beer is a problem for me, anywhere else i would drink this by the bucketload but at Galbraiths i hardly touch it because of the real ale offerings! TimE (6266) - Tokyo, JAPAN - OCT 24, 2012
light grassy, moderate amount of biscuit character and a moderately bitter finish. A touch unbalanced and sour but still a great beer Travlr (26412) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - AUG 22, 2013
Draft at the source. Clear golden color, white edge head. Aroma of white pepper and straw. Taste is clean and crisp. skortila (6009) - Baarn, NETHERLANDS - MAY 25, 2014
On tap or cask @ Galbraiths’, Auckland. New Zealand holiday 2011-12. Old notes. The aroma is a bit citric fruity and slightly grainy. Clear, golden coloured beer with a thin, white head. The taste is light-moderate bitter, has hints of grassy hops, is a bit citric, ’pale malty’. Crisp, clean and nice. adasko (2233) - Poznan, POLAND - MAR 23, 2016
Hoppy aroma with malty background. In taste even more hoppy, less malty. But this are like traditional German or Czech old fashion hops. No fruity, no resin notes, just pure green classic hops. Bitterness might be a bit bigger since it’s a pilsener. Clear golden color, small white head, nice lacing. Drinkable, it’s ok. Very classical.

On tap at the brewpub. Served a golden color with a nice head that fades to some lacing. Aroma of some citrus and bit of malt sweetness and fresh grain. has a clean scent. Taste has a nice crispness with some malt sweetness and a bit of grain. nice bitterness and a clean finish. Fairly light body, crisp and quite refreshing. Enjoyable beer that is quite sessionable. waiake (606) - Auckland, NEW ZEALAND - AUG 14, 2015

Nice grassy, straw bitterness on the flavour, less on the aroma, which as a very light whiff of fruit. Looks like a pilsner, tastes like a pilsner, smells like a pilsner. That’s an achievement that few New Zealand pilsners have fulfilled so far, no matter how taste they could be. yalnikim (802) - Wellington, NEW ZEALAND - MAR 25, 2005
Tasted 23/03/2005. Classic english pint glass on tap at the brewery’s ale house.
Pleasant light grainy malt flavour up front is followed with nice long-lasting citrus hop notes in this unfiltered lager. I don’t come to Galbraith’s for lager though... so time for another bitter. JoeMcPhee (10129) - Toronto, ON, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 1, 2005
On tap. Pale golden colour, thick white fluffy head. Nice strong grassy/earthy hop aroma. Some thin pils caramel malts. Flavour is quite grassy and earthy with a moderate but very clean bitterness.
