COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask; Originally regular. Relegated to a principally Spring seasonal since production moved to Fullers early 2006. Has also been available bottle conditioned.
Ingredients: Floor malted Maris Otter pale ale malt, black malt and Crystal malt; Fuggles, Goldings and Challenger hops.
Full-bodied premium mild ale brewed to 4.8% ABV with a careful blend of malt and hops for a complex, moreish character that has won this famous ale many awards. The palate is rich with blackcurrant, raisins and raspberry, with citrus notes in the finish.

I must have missed something with this one. The bottle said to enjoy it at room temperature. The thought of a warm ale didn’t appeal to me so I drank it out of the fridge, but the tale end of the bottle was warm because it took me a while to finish.

Cask at the Royal Oak, Borough. Deep red-brown with a clingy off-white head, and chocolate & wine on the nose. Full & rich bodied, with tart red fruit, roast malt and hints of coffee and dry plain chocolate. Dry bitter-choc finish with grassy hops, and touches of grapefruit bitterness and tobacco.

Pours a lovely dark ruby red with a fine, staying, small, creamy, beige head. Aroma is rather sweet, light berries, chocolate, caramel and a hint of butterscotch. Medium carbonation, great dry mouthfeel. Flavour has lovely dark chocolate, fine dryness, liqourice, quite malty and full-feeling. Great grainy, malty bitterness and dryness in the finish. Lovely.

From cask at Charlies. Pours deep brown with a reddish glare and a small tan head. Aroma is dark roasted malt. Malty, roasted and overripe fruity flavoured. Liqourice and mollases. Roasted malty and bitter into a medium dry finish. Lasting roasted malty and sweet molasses flavoured finish.
