Mmmm, swill! Off-clear colour (really, really, pale gold). Aroma is quite light and cidery. Some apple and pale malt. Flavour is slightly herbal and metallic with a light vegetal character. Very cereally. Like watery cider with a bit of pale malt. Beyond boring.

Had very little expectations but the pour was not bad. Foamy white head that had some solid structure to it. Aroma was a bit skunky. Some hop notes in there somewhere behind the stench. Flavor was terrible. Poor finish, skunky taste. Aweful. Lively carbonation on the tongue. But really quite poor overall.

UPDATED: NOV 1, 2007 Bottle. I poured this beverage and it looked to be bubbly and lively but it wasnt. Weak corn and syrup without flavor. Its from a Central American country. What more can you expect? Labeled "Famosa."

Bottle: One of the least attractive looking beers out there. Pours completely lucid, with almost no color, or head. Aroma is of cheap brewing flakes, stale dog urine, unappealing. There was surprisingly balanced carbonation, but a very vacant flavor. Just a straw hint with near no bitterness. Lacks any character whatsoever.

Had this beer on 7/5/2006. Light Pilsner like beer. Gold color good carbonation and an ok head. Aroma is a faint corn like scent. Its just a bland flavorless beer.

Famosa bottle; poured a clear gold color with lots of visible carbonation. Taste was ok for the style. Not bad for the style.

Found this one bottled in St. Charles under the name "Famosa." Very bright, clear and bubbly yellow pour, grassy, sour nose, a bit soapy early but fading into a delicate sweetness. This was among the best of the developing world lagers.

Its a bad beer but it reminds me of my time in Guatemala every time I see it. Thats worth a 1.

Gallo or Famosa: a shitty beer by any other name is still a shitty beer. This is yet another disappointing beer sold at The Corkscrew. Almost colorless with dismal head. Aroma was of the spare tire section of my trunk. Weak and watery. Flavor was skunky. Doesnt even quailfy as a Lawnmower Beer, other than to use it to wash the lawnmower.
