2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
Note this is a genuine Gallo bought in Guatemala City, Guatemala.
Pours a golden pale color with less than one finger head thatquickly dissipates and shows plenty of carbonation. Toasted hops and mild sweetness up front. Largely no hop flavor. Medium body with moderate carbonation. Medium malty finish. For a macrobrew lager, this one is good compared to many of the other Central American lagers I’ve had and even some of the macrobrews in the US.
Pours a light yellow with a thick white head that quickly dissolves with no lacing. Nose is light cereal. Taste is slight sweet thin malt. with hop bitterness. Body is thin. Land Shark, Corona, Pacifico, even Tecate are better beers. 12 oz can HogTownHarry (6872) - Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, CANADA - JUL 19, 2017
August 8, 2014 - with blankboy, gregclow, jercraigs and mabel. 350ml brown bottle and I think "not in a friggin green bottle" is probably going to be the best thing about this one ... Bright oily incredibly pale gold with a small fizzy diminishing unnaturally bright head. "I’ve smelled this before!" - sugar, weeds and urine - some PVC; generous 3. The taste also sucks, but in a somewhat different fashion; it’s like warm garden hose water filled up a plastic kiddie pool full of pulled insecticide-sprayed weeds which was left in the sun - then a bottle of cheap grain alcohol was dumped in it and the resulting mess was bottled; voila! Blech. Watery, harsh, still, ugly aftertaste. Horrible. Emeister84 (2505) - Charlottesville, Virginia, USA - JUN 22, 2017
Quart-sized bottle (of Famosa) from Americana Grocery (Vienna, VA). Faint cidery aromas, grainy. Clear, very pale gold, with a mostly lasting white head. A little sweet, light apple, grainy. Light bodied, very watery. OnTheTrail (508) - Virginia, USA - JUN 18, 2017
Pours pale very clear light straw. Big white head. Aroma is light slightly nutty barley malt. Slightly sweet taste, slightly apple malt, nothing off, barest hint of hops. Mouthfeel a bit too heavy for the style. Not the worst pale lager. gripweed57 (2460) - Hamilton Square, New Jersey, USA - APR 26, 2017
From old tasting notes. Labeled as Famosa Lager. Pale yellow gold color. Large white head. Mild grainy malt aroma. Faint grainy malt flavor hints at lemon peel.light dry finish.

Shared with Wombat23, who has a six pack of the stuff to unload. Pours straw colored, the white head immediately disappears. Grassy aroma, light honey notes. Taste is sweet, dry, faint metallic notes. Watery end. Not much going on.

Shared 12 oz. can. As Famosa. Pours clear pale yellow with a white head. Initially extremely fizzy. Aroma is corn. Taste corn, chemicals, metallic notes. darbeer75 (902) - Round Rock, Texas, USA - APR 16, 2017
Aroma: lightly corny; Appearance: light yellow, clear pour with no head; Taste: follows nose; not terrible but completely forgettable; Palate: light bodied with light finish; Overall: at least it’s a Guatemala tick. tomer (3517) - Rishon Le Zion, ISRAEL - APR 16, 2017
Bottle, medium diminishing bubbly head, clear palish yellow color, light malty aroma with some paper, light malty fruity aroma, light sweetness and bitterness, lively carbonation. Not offensive but not much different from water. Grzesiek79 (4297) - Radom, POLAND - MAR 18, 2017
As Famosa. Many Thanks for this beer to CH-303. Lepiej juz w upalny dzien napic sie wody mineralnej i smaczniej i zdrowiej. Thanks Asbjorn for a new Country.
