pouring a desperately pale yellow, like an old mans fingernails, famosa exposed bespeaks a closer proximity to tinny tap water than serious brewing. dropping a kernel of corn into it would surely double its intensity. if it were architecture, it would be a shack so poorly built that its own head would cause it to collapse into splinters. it is aromatic, but not of pleasant things: this beer has that kind-of rubbery smell of well-chewed dog toys, plain lip-balm, lightly composting corn cobs and dank magazine paper. naturally, its limited flavor would be entirely arrested by the addition of a lemon wedge, unsqueezed. but one must concede that the drink is certainly wet, and thats a good thing when consumed under perfect conditions--like after being locked in a cargo container in the mojave desert for nine days. a flavor of white grape and lemon, plus some tinniness derived from the parsimonious use of industrial grade hop-concentrate. oh, and im pretty sure that this was barrel aged. no, i dont mean in an oak barrel-- i mean a gun barrel. thanks to clyde for a fun, if somewhat punishing bottle.

Surprisingly good for a mass produced tasteless lager. Its clear and crisp, feels really good in massive Central Americas heat.

Can thanks to Andrew. Thanks for the Guatamala tick! Pours a light straw, crystal clear with a small white head. Nose of light malt and corn. Taste is pretty bland, really clean while cold. Shows a light straw flavor in the finish and a touch of acidity. Pretty boring but not as flawed as I was expecting.
