The beer looks like a beautiful porter. The color is pith black, with a dark almond foam head. The foam tends to collapse quickly, but a nice drape of foam remains on top of the beer. The smell of the beer is nice, bt a little mild. I mell some delicious roasted barley, giving aromas of coffee, chocolate and salted caramel. There is a lovely combination between salty aromas, roasty bitterness and sweet chocolate. The same applies for the taste. There is a delicious salted caramel flavour, which is quite unique for a regular porter. I havent encountered it a lot. It.s in perfect balance with the darker roast flavours. It sure reminds me of a stormy port: a stormy dark bitterness together with a salty sea flavour. An excellent porter.

Przyjemnie pachnie, jest kawa, jest czekolada, jest lekki karmel. W smaku jest lekko, to w końcu nieco ponad 5 procent alkoholu. Przyjemna kawa i czekolada w smaku bez nadmiernej karmelowej słodyczy. Dobra rzecz, kolejny "nudny" w Polsce styl, ktry u nas się szybko nie przyjmie.

Barwa ciemno brunatna do czarnej, średnio wysoka, zbita piana. W aromacie mleczna czekolada, kawa. Oleista tekstura, w smaku podobnie jak w aromacie, na finiszu popił. Oglnie całkiem niezłe.

On tap @Salt House in Galway, pours dark brown with a thin off-white head. Sweet aroma of roasted coffee and malts. Taste similar, roasted malts, initially sweet but finishes bitter. Medium body with light carbonation.

Toasted malts, milky americano coffee, dark chocolate, dry cacao. Hazy, very dark brown, small, creamy, beige head. Toasted malts, some light coffee, light sweet grain malts, dark bread, soft carbonation, lightly bitter in the finish. Nice Porter, would love to try this on cask as its too fizzy for me. Keg at The Black Sheep, Dublin.

Bottle from Dicey Reilly in Ballyshannon. Appearance - dark brown to black with red chinks. Nose - toffee and chocolate. Fruitcake. Taste - toffee, molasses and liquorice. Crunchie Bar. Palate - medium bodied with a creamy rich texture that follows through the finish. Overall - a nice complex porter.

My Bottom Line:
Roasty malts and their chocolate accents move into minty hops and their bitterness in this satisfying Porter.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam covers the brown-hued black.
-Maltiness lasts for quite a while, which I appreciate.
-Molasses are found under the roast.
-Charred meat notes are found as well.

On tap at The Beer Market, Dublin.
