Light golden color with a tight bubbled near white head. Scents of grain, light caramel, and honey. Mild grains and light honey flavors. Just a bit of herbal to floral hops. Finish is a bit sweet. OD40oz (774) - Box Elder, South Dakota, USA - FEB 18, 2013
Poured a golden orange. This was a tad on the bitter side, not what I expected. I wouldn’t pass this up if someone gave me one, but I wouldn’t buy it. theisti (4126) - Kansas, USA - NOV 12, 2012
12 oz twist off bottle purchased as a single at the Festival Foods in Onalasaka, Wisconsin. 01916 printed on the neck. The pour is clear orange golden with a two inch light tan head that falls with crackling carbonation bubbles. There is a steady stream of tiny bubbles from the base of the glass. The aroma is light malt sweetness, cracker and a fair amount of cardboard. The taste is lightly caramel sweet malt, honey floral, and the dirty cardboard from the back of the nose. Flavors don’t really act together, sort of comes from three directions. Though, this did improve some as the beer warmed. The palate is medium to light bodied, soft carbonation and the strong dirty finish. It’s a Mai Bock I bought in October, so I wasn’t expecting too much. nick76 (4399) - Tampa, Florida, USA - AUG 6, 2012
The aroma is sweet and honey like with citrus hops and slightly buttery. The appearance is gold/amber with a large head. The taste is like the aroma. The palate is average. Overall a decent beer. wlajwl (6814) - Quad Cities, Iowa, USA - JUL 8, 2012
Aroma is pale malts, a hint of hops and an off-note of tartness. The flavor is pale malts, baked bread, mild sweetness and a smooth finish.

Bottled. Poured medium golden with a short, kind of fizzy off-white head. The aroma picked up sweet, lightly-toasted caramel and vanilla, with herbal hop accents.. seemed a bit too sweet. The flavor opened a little tangy with black pepper and herbal bitterness leading.. sweet caramel and vanilla again on the middle.. a touch of toasted molasses toward the back.. finished dry and grainy, with more black pepper over caramel.. still sweet, but there was enough other character to balance it. Light-medium bodied and a tad more bitter than expected on the palate.. just an OK feel and flow.. decent overall. dwyerpg (6187) - Las Vegas, Nevada, USA - MAY 25, 2012
Last night I wasn’t enjoying this so much but I am today. Strange. Looks a bit orange. The flavor is decently crisp, not too malty. A bit of graininess. Not bad. fidelis83 (2441) - Clinton, Iowa, USA - MAY 20, 2012
Pours gold to pale amber with a 2 finger, creamy white head. Aroma is cereal, honey, toast, floral hops, a touch of caramel and sweet hay. Flavor is honey, grass, cereal grain, light malt sweetness, floral, spicy and planty hops. Palate is medium body, slick, but off dry on entry and slightly astringent in the finish. Decent overall. The moutfeel is a little weird to me. SODAK14 (378) - Rapid City, South Dakota, USA - MAY 10, 2012
A little too bitter, but not overly, for my taste. Has a bad ass name but not the taste to back it up. jmohno (1619) - Iowa, USA - APR 29, 2012
Poured a light copper, clear lots of bubbles creamy thick head with lacing.
Aroma has some breadiness with slight fruit very light mild carmel sweetnote, slight yeastyness.
Taste is mirrored with some sweetness carmel, pretty good mouthfeel, with tart apple and a mild citrus tart tang bitter somewhat peppery finish. There is some astringent dryness that plays with a smooth creamyness. Not too bad.
