Bottle. After many months, I have finally traced down all of the Swedish Easter beers of 2005!

The colour is very dark brown-amber, the pale brown foam forms a slowly sinking head.

The smell is somewhat burned with notes of dates, raisins, marzipan and pumpernickel. OK, but it could have been even richer.

The taste is fruity and burned-bitter with a full-bodied touch of dry, dried fruits. The quite long aftertaste is bitter with salty notes and a flavour of roasted hazelnuts and a touch of gravy.

The carbonation is quite soft.

I think this rather robust beer suits Christmas time than Easter.

The smell and the taste is malty and metallic, there are also some shades of chocolate, fruit and hops.

Cunningham (7982) - Halden, NORWAY - MAR 10, 2012
Amber colour with a tan head. Moderate sweet aroma with some roasted malt. Also a moderate sweet flavour. Light fruity and some roasted malt as weel. This used to be one of my favourites, and I actualla still have one bottle. But probably no point to open it after all this years.

Ungstrup (37625) - Citizen of the universe, DENMARK - OCT 26, 2005
A red-brown beer with a small beige head. The aroma is sweet with notes of caramel and honey, while the flavor is sweet and sour with notes of lemon, leading to a very dry end. There is just something with the flavor that I don’t like - the sourness the weakness...

oh6gdx (26488) - Vasa, FINLAND - SEP 16, 2005
Bottled. Dark amber (copper) coloured, beige bubbly head. Some caramel, malt and hops in aroma. Flavour is caramellish, oakish and a bit roasted. Aftertaste is caramellish, though not very sweet. Beerstyle is something like porter meets dunkel. A bit sticky palate.

Papsoe (25063) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - SEP 12, 2005
(Bottle 50 cl) The back label claims this is a "Märzen" which must be a complete misunderstanding. This beer is dark brown, close to black with a red, warm glow and a beige head. The flavour is burned, almost like charcoal and very bitter. Reminds me mostly of a Stout. Has a suspicious resemblance to the same brewery’s Christmas beer. 190802

Engelsmann (651) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - JUL 31, 2005
Bottled. Pours a dark redbrown, with a small tan head. Aroma is of caramel, and sweet malts. Taste is sweet malty, with some notes of dark roasted mlts.

Pernille (518) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - JUL 25, 2005
Color like opaque cola. Small, disappearing beige head. Quite thin body but strong notes of coffee and liquorice. Not bad.

Dixen (1465) - Flagstaff, Arizona, USA - JUL 25, 2005
Light roasty malt aroma. Borwn to reddish body, small off-white head. Some malt in flavor, quite thin and weak.

Hildigöltur (5104) - København, DENMARK - JUL 24, 2005
Bottled. Brown coloured. Malty aroma. Weak malty flavour. Quite thin and boring. Does not taste like an Oktoberfest/Märzen.

joergen (28148) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - JUL 16, 2005
Bottled. Red brown coloured with a beige head. Malty aroma with notes of dried fruits. Flavour of malts, peaches and berries. Hoppy finish.
