0,650L bottle bought at HK Brewcraft.
Appearance: Pours a very deep brown colour with tiny, thin tan head and with some retention.
Aroma: Complex and dominated by vanilla, coffee, cocoa, bitter chocolate and bourbon. With some plums, prunes, roasted malt and oak and a touch of light molasses and light smokiness. There is also some very light alcohol booziness when warm.
Taste: Medium bittersweet flavour of chocolate, dark fruits, vanilla and roasted malt, coffee and bourbon flavours. Bourbon and some light port-like flavours turn more prominent when it becomes warmer.
Palate: The body is surprisingly not as heavy as what a 11.5% (2016) bourbon BA porter would have been. Medium body with moderate carbonation. The texture is quite smooth and soft. The finish is light warming alcohol, coffee, cocoa, roasted malt and with some dark fruits and light molasses.
Overall: The 2016 Bourbon Barrel-Aged Baltic Porter is aged for over a year in oak bourbon barrels and it's released in October 2017. The ageing has definitely played an important role in turning the regular GP Baltic Porter into a much more complex and richer dark beer, with additional, pronounced bourbon, vanilla and oak aromas. A really delicious brew that is best for cold winter night. Really like the metallic label, too. Samtzu (647) - Palmerston North, NEW ZEALAND - JAN 6, 2018
650ml bottle. Pours a deep black with no head. Rich nose full of chocolate, molasses, and alcohol. Full body with a strong sweetness mixed with alcohol that lingers for a long period. The sweetness is strange as it does not remind me of bourbon but something else. BarleyRates3 (1) - - DEC 18, 2017 does not count
Certainly one of the best beers I’ve tasted. It’s been a while since a beer left me speechless.

UPDATED: FEB 3, 2018 650ml bottle. Pours black. Bourbon, vanilla, chocolate, coffee, plum brandy, brown sugar, boozy raisin thing. Nice body. Too much bourbon, but pretty good. Patersoi (192) - AUSTRALIA - FEB 28, 2016
Now this is a bourbon barrel porter done well. Bourbon on the nose. Pours black with super dense cream head. The bourbon is ever present, with creamed honey and sweet malt swirling on the palate. Medium soft mouth feel and a warm glow from the alcohol. Sweet finish that leaves you wanting more.

UPDATED: FEB 4, 2016 Black pour with white head. Aroma is some oxidation, marshmallow, mild toasty quality. Taste is very smooth with mild toasty. Nice bourbon barrel quality though overpriced. GenDV138 (7960) - Falls Church, Virginia, USA - MAR 17, 2015
Bottle shared by nate2g at Travlr’s place, thanks! Black with tan head. Aromas of dark chocolate, bourbon, caramel, light licorice and dark fruit. Tastes of roast, dark chocolate, caramel, bourbon. Medium-full body with a dry finish. Travlr (26943) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - MAR 16, 2015
Bottle courtesy of nate2g, thank you sir! Clear maroon brown head. Big bourbon aroma, with some vanilla and coffee. Taste is carbonated whiskey, porter is definitely in the background. Too much bourbon for me. Niksko (638) - Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - JAN 20, 2015
Pours a coca cola brown with a thin light tan head. Nose is cola, vanilla, bourbon, sweet oak, plum wine, port, stewed fruit. Flavor is lots of vanilla and bourbon barrel goodness. A little hint of smoke on the mid palate, a little char, slight coffee, plums soaked in wine. And yet despite the decadent flavors, it’s really not that heavy on the palate. It’s a little syrupy but for 9% it’s not overbearing like you might imagine. Seriously good beer.
