COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brightside is a strong blonde ale - a companion to Aro Noir that is as bright as the other is dark. The ingredients are deceptively simple - just Belgian Pilsner malt, candy sugar and the French hop Aramis. The bright golden result though is far from simple with restrained spice, floral notes and maybe even the slightest hint of bubblegum. Beware, it is deceptively drinkable for its not insubstantial strength of 7.8%.

Not a bad play on the Belgian blonde style. Ester aromas, clear straw color. Flavor is sweet with honey, some bubblegum with a short finish.

650ml Bottle. Pours a mild gold with slight off white head. Fruity nose with a hidden sweetness and potentially bubblegum? Full body which has a strong sweetness and large amounts of fruit notes again. Flavour lingers for a good period as well.

Apricot golden, clear but thin wispy head that clears quickly. Very raro, cordial like nose with a boozy bit of Eucalyptus thrown in. Flavours are a bit run of the mill begin golden. Sweet candy sugar comes thru. Finish a bit hoppy and a touch earthy.

Smells very light. The taste is smooth light fresh taste. It is sweet and doesn’t have too much yeasty flavors. A little lacking in taste.

650ml bottle. Aroma is a little Belgian sugar, some grassiness and lots of savoury malts. Flavour is orange candy, grassy sweetness and a vegetable note near the end. Noticeable alcohol. Nothing special.

UPDATED: JAN 27, 2017 Grassy floral aroma in a crystal yellow gold pour. Full body is laid back with just a hint of spice and bubblegum followed by a surprisingly sustained bitter finish.

[8376-20160529] Tap. Lemon-lime lavender floral aroma. Clear, orange body with a medium-lasting foamy off-white head and some lacing. Lots of bitter lavender hops and lime zest potpourri and fruity capsicum grains flavour. Medium body. Good but I’m not usually a fan of florally anything, especially in beer. (7/3/7/3/13) 3.3-

2016-05-29. Hazy golden yellow body modest off-white head. 3+ Aroma is lightly alcoholic, floury and floral notes are vaguely tripel like with pale malt below. Flavour is a touch muddled up front. Interesting fruity character, sweetish not quite doughy biscuity pale malt undercurrents. Hints of spice in the background never quite come forward to prominence. Average bodied palate, soft carbonation. Grows on me a lot after a slightly rough first impression. 7/3+/7/3/15-16 On tap at Garage Project - Aro 91, Wellington, NZ.
