COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This has been one of the most challenging Garage brews to date. At its heart was the idea of combining aggressive, high citrus character of American hops with the heat and sweetness of Indochine flavours. Have you ever tried a Vietnamese mango and chili salad? If you haven’t you should. It could be life changing. It’s an idea that has been rattling around the Garage consciousness for a while and the Great Australasian Beer Spectapular seemed like a fitting opportunity to give it an outing. It was always going to be a challenging brew to pull off – mango, chili, Vietnamese mint and lime juice aren’t exactly conventional ingredients. Don’t bother checking, they aren’t listed in the Reinheitsgebot. Add a lavish addition of Chinook, Centennial, Citra and Amarillo hops, a deadline launch for an international beer festival and take it straight to a 2000 litre batch without any chance for small scale testing and you get what could have been a recipe for spectacular, monumental disaster. The idea of trying to bring all these flavours together in a coherent way given the pressure of time and prospect of public humiliation was, frankly, shit scary.

UPDATED: NOV 22, 2013 I could drink this all day. Wow. A hop dream and full bodied. Fantastic balance. The chilli just leaves a peppery-ness at the end which is a great change from sweetness. New batch tasted 22/11/13 - less chilli which is a pity cos I enjoyed the bite in the previous release - but a superlative IPA all the same and highly enjoyed (can).

Lovely floral aroma, deep golden colour. Explosions of lime and hops, followed by a subtle hint of chilli in the aftertaste. Superb!

Hazy orange with a nice white head. Strong aroma of citrus, mango, hops. Taste get more complex with mango, spices, chilli, loads of hops for a very balanced and tasty ale. Medium body, bitter finish. Awesome.

UPDATED: AUG 11, 2016 0,33L can bought at the Bottle Shop Hong Kong. Appearance: Pours a hazy amber - copper colour with medium frothy white head that leaves some beautiful lacing. Aroma: Massive fruity aroma of mango, passionfruit, citrus from Amarillo, Citra and Centennial hops. Some resin, spice, lime and light toffee-like malt notes. Taste: A very complex and balanced flavour. Medium citrus bitterness, with resin and some pine. Later joins the light toffee-like malt sweetness which slowly turns into some subtle chilliness and spiciness at the end. The chilliness and spiciness is not overwhelmed, but can taste its existence as the glass becomes warmer. Palate: Medium body, with hoppy, bitter and citrus, mango and lime fruit finish. The texture is very smooth. Mild mint leaves and some sweet and very subtle chili aftertaste when swallow. Overall: Absolutely spot on. I am amazed by the perfect balance of this IPA. Although some really unique and exotic ingredients such as mango, Vietnamese mint and lime and chili are added, they do not clash with the usual beer ingredients of hops and malts. Such a stunning beer brewed by Garage Project, definitely goes on my favourite list. Also give credits to the design and drawing of the can, really eye-catching and worth collecting.

such a good DIPA. Citrus mango flavours mixed with a hint of lime, coriander and chilli. A earthy yeasty body and smells of a garden on pour. Complex and delicious. This is glorious!

A great idea bringing the violence of the vietnam war and putting it in a bottle. This is a massive beer, soooo much flavour and a hop bomb. Just superb. Really a hop heads dream. An American DIPA hop flavour with the light additions of the other listed ingredients. Hard to pick out from the hops but I see a little Marzipan and lime citrus. Beautiful.

UPDATED: NOV 27, 2013 Wowee. Bottle from Mane Liquor. Pours hazy orange with a small white head with some nice lacing. Nose shows big, juicy hops - citrus, mango, pine, mont and chilli. Very enticing stuff. Taste is big hop driven citrus notes, heavy tropical fruits, and chilli. The chilli is damn hot. Probably one of the hottest beers I’ve had to date. Very bitter sweet. Really well made stuff. Very good

BOTTLE/CAN. Either option is amazing, nice orange colour and all the flavours just burst out of the bottle. The Chilli flavour is so subtle, yet it combines with the other flavours & hops so well... its a must try! Can sourced from The Pourhouse Dunsborough Bottle sourced from Cellarbrations Capel
