Rune (13507) - Tromsø, NORWAY - NOV 15, 2017
A nice, colourful 650ml bottle kindly shared by Finn. Crocheted lacing from a decent off-white head. Clear apricot coloured body. Promising aroma of raisin and caramel malts. Flavoured with dried fruits and caramel. Sweet, long-lived malt-fruity ending, a bit cloying. Heavy to drink with slow sipper qualities. (Session in Tårnrommet with Snegurochka, TheCellarer and Finn, Tromsø 14.11.2017).

Dark amber with rich nose of fruits and malty notes. Taste is really full and with slight alcohol and ripe fruits. Palate is long, strong and with have notes of wine.

Brewhemia (321) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - JUN 25, 2017
Almost clear dark amber with redish glow. Thick very light brown head. Looks real good. Sweet malty aroma of caramel and grassy notes from the hops. Faint metallic notes in the beginning bug they wore off. The taste is not surprisingly quite sweet but has a good bitterness punch as well which intensifies in the finish. There are a little flavor notes if liqourice I think and a lot of toffee and caramel, and a slight acidity it seems as well. It has a lot of flavor all in all and more than just overly sweet like some barley wines. While it doesn’t add up to subtle complexity but rather a lot of flavors competing, I think it is quite good.

Cunningham (8387) - Halden, NORWAY - JUN 6, 2017
Deep amber color with a tan head. Ok lacing. Fine intensity in the aroma. Full body and a smooth carbonation level. A bit sweet, but not over the top. Solid beer with a fine complexity. Changed with the temperature. Lasting fine flavor. Dried fruits, licorice, toffee and a bit vinous. Solid evening sipper.
[Bottle at Humlekyllingene June meeting -17]

3.2
Turtles (2967) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - MAY 26, 2017
650ml bottle from Systembolaget. Hazy amber. Dense and long lasting, medium size tobacco stained head, good lacing. Sweet aroma, caramel, butterscotch, booze, figs, dates, pine, tea, earthy and resinous. Chewy and sweet mouthfeel, medium to full-bodied, soft carbonated, mild alcohol burn behind all that sweetness. Sweet taste with mild pine bitterness. Earthy, a bit woody, dried sweet fruit, caramel, honey, muscovado sugar and black tea. Sweet and warming finish. A less sugary version of this on would be right up my alley.
