Bottle, thank you Colin and Kendra! Wine like vinous notes in aroma, with lots of herbal notes and wood as well. Dark murky brown with a foamy tan head. Spruce, an awful lot of wood, herbal, alcohol, and a bit of tin/blood in initial sip. Gives way to slow low alcohol burn and some sweet alcohol and malt characteristics. Mouthfeel is quite light and carbonated. Interesting, nice sipper, but probably more of a failed experiment than a highly recommended brew.
Bottle shared by Daniel. Thanks! It pours deep red with a decent beige head. The nose is soft, yet rich, oily, sweet rum, molasses, woody, earth and toasted brown sugar... sort of intoxicating! The taste is smooth, woody, spruce, toasty, earthy, spruce, oily, molasses, spiciness, light vanilla, old leather boots, light toffee and fruit cake, with a lingering warming finish. Medium + body and moderate carbonation. Nice depth to it. Works very well. Gethinbeer (2452) - Nova Scotia, CANADA - MAR 20, 2015
Walnut pour with a lasting tan head and lacing. Beautiful looking beer. Caramel malt, with rum in the aroma. Lovely texture, smooth silky texture. Well balance, not to overpowering. Toffee, caramel flavour with molasses and rum in the finish. Warming ale. Great, tasty brew!
