Bottle from the back of my stash - unknown vintage, but several years old at least. Pours a clear dark amber with a small tan head. Aroma is dominated by maple candy with some backing caramel and dark sugar - sweet on sweet on sweet. Flavour follows the aroma pretty closely, with some evidence of oxidization, and a bit of woodiness. Way too sweet for my palate, and based on the earlier reviews, even a fresh bottle was likely the same.

On tap at the brewery. Creamy tan head over a deep copper body. Wonderful aroma with hints of maple, toffee and vanilla. The flavor is even better, with a clearer maple component and some nice roasted nuts. Overall: Excellent, all natural, maple flavored ale. Best maple ale Ive had, and I really love maple syrup.

Transparent brown hue with a minimally sized, quickly dissipating white head. Very nice aroma with notes of potent maple syrup, caramel, brown sugar, and candy. Light bodied and bubbly. Robust maple syrup taste from start to finish, lingering as well, complemented with caramel, brown sugar, vanilla, and a mildly bitter hop finish. Not amazing by any means, but the maple syrup taste is executed very well.

Appearance: clear medium amber with one finger of light tan head, good retention and patchy lacing. (3/5) Aroma: strong maple, faint caramel malt. (5/10) Taste: moderate sweet, mild bitter. (5/10) Palate: medium body, moderate carbonation, off-dry bitter finish. (3/5) Actually not unpleasant, and nowhere near as sweet as the aroma would suggest. Although it smells exactly like a stack of maple syrup covered pancakes, the actual taste is much more restrained: its actually not any sweeter than a typical amber, albeit with a fairly hefty dose of maple flavour, and a surprisingly pronounced bitter finish. Unfortunately, its not an unqualified success, since the maple aroma verges on overpowering, and the transition from the strong aroma to the bitter finish feels particularly sudden given the near-complete absence of sweetness in between. (11/20)

Amber and clear, strong maple aroma. Maple flavour is light by at the same time harshly sweet, trays a bit fake and I couldnt finish a pint.

Keg at the brewery. It pours clear deep amber with a thick off-white head. The nose is big hit of pancakes drizzled with sweet maple syrup, oily, earthy, toasty brown sugar, brown bread, pretzel and light spice. The taste is bitter, earthy, toasted malt, wood, resin, mild astringency, leather, oily, peppercorn, maple and fruit cake with some alcohol warmth on the finish. Medium+ body and moderate carbonation. A bit chewy on the mouth-feel. The aroma is quite intoxicating after a while. Not so sure on this one.

Light amber body body. Faint sweet aroma of maple and malt. Taste is also slightly sweet and mapley, but not all that interesting. Okay.

Bottle. Clear deep amber pour with no head. Mostly sweet maple, brown sugar, apple, light caramel. The maple itself tastes natural and nicely integrated, but the beer is quite light and not very balanced.

Where and how: bottle 500 ml
Aroma pancake maple syrup up front. All about maple in aroma. Slightly woody with hint of brown sugar. Very mild hop backing.
Appearance :
Top: lighter, bright cap.
Base: clear ruby-amber look.
Palate : medium full bodied. Mellow.
Taste: simple sugary sweetness on lower carbonated base. As in aroma one sided maple syrup character.
other notes lacking balance.
