bottle shared. Pours pinkish red with a small light head.Nose is not really Kriek but more that of wheat and hay. Light sweet body, a bit salty and spiced. Interesting. Taste is flat out wheat and grassy notes. Interesting beer, but toally not a cherry beer. guitarhero (33) - Dante’s hell, FINLAND - OCT 24, 2014
Light reddish, tight foam. Metallic flat aroma. Silk light body. Taste is metallic with syrupy fruitiness, watery. Alengrin (5243) - BELGIUM - OCT 17, 2014
UPDATED: NOV 17, 2014 Artisanal top-fermented cherry beer based on ’t Gaverhopke Blonde, according to the brewer himself - but I’m talking about the original version here, from before the brewery was taken over. Loose, unstable, off-pinkish head, dark ruby red colour, cloudy. Fresh fruits in the nose, sour cherries of course, but subjective impressions of raspberries and apple sauce as well, next to sweetish pale malts and some (fortunately vague) H2S. Fruity onset, clear presence of genuine cherry juice, lightly sweet but a bit tart too, with a light hint of hop bitterishness in the finish. This was a very, and I mean very, old-fashioned cherry beer based on an ale, and in that particular class it wasn’t even the worst. Too bad for the H2S presence, though in this one it was a lot less pronounced than in the (again, original) Blonde, Bruine and Twaalf. tderoeck (9471) - Gent, BELGIUM - SEP 16, 2014
24/VIII/14 - 33cl bottle from Willems (Grobbendonk) @ home - BB: VI/2016 (2014-938) MarcoDL (4808) - NETHERLANDS - JUN 20, 2014
Clear ruby red beer, small irregular white head, unstable, dissipates quickly, non adhesive. Aroma: cherries in a can or jar, bit sourish, sugary. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: sourish, cherries, lemony, some vinegar, bitter touch. Aftertaste: bit sour, unpleasant bitterness, some tannins (from the pits?), bit hoppy. Curious about which base beer they used to add the cherries to.
Kriek beer that itsn’t overly sweet, but tastes like real cherries. That means it’s sweet in a fruity way, with a slight tardiness. Nice one.

Bottle from the brewery ( thnx Bruno ! )
Pours rather clear , red/orange
Small white foam .
Unintense sweet cherry smell ( no pure sugar though )
Taste is thin, cherry ( a bit ) very dry , chewy background of bubblegum-maltyness . Metallic , weak , and not really good either

Bottle: Past BB: Served in a Chouffe glass:
Quick disappearing bubbles. Leaves a headless clear bronze to ruby orange colored beer.
Aromas of cinnamon, cherries, some wood and a sprinkle of chalk. Strong cinnamon an cherry tones.
Flavours of cherries, malts, cinnamon, bitters, some malts, light caramel and some sweet herbs with toast.
Aftertaste is bitter, cherries, hebs, malts and yeast.
Low to no carbo, oily mouthfeel, medium bodied and an oily creamy texture.
Strange, flat, not interesting but it’s somewhat easy drinkable... ClubGonzo (5668) - Bergen, NORWAY - JUL 19, 2013
Bottle from bieresgourmet.be webshop. Deep slightly hazy orange-hued pink body with a small light pink-ish white head. Nose is faint traces of tart cherries and not much else. Taste is watery, faint cherry notes and loads of cellar moldy tones. Seems off. Palate is watery with moderate carbonation. Bad stuff, will re-rate on occasion if I find a good bottle. Scopey (14501) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - MAY 27, 2013
Bottle at Bierboom, Brugge. It pours rose with a small-medium white head. The nose is smooth, candy cane, strawberry ice cream and cherry. The taste is easy going, dull fruitiness, mild cherry, strawberry and ice-cream with a dry finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Not essentially bad, there just isn’t really that much to it. bièregourmet (50) - Mechelen, BELGIUM - APR 4, 2013
