COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Bottle @ Home. Pours dark brown with a small creamy light brown head. Aroma of roasted malt, light coffee, chocolate. Flavor of rather weak, but some malts, dark chocolate, caramel, light bitterness. Medium body, lively carbonation. Boring. 110213

Ok, now I’m confused. Which beer have I just been drinking? There are two Gavnø Stouts at RateBeer, and they both get lousy ratings, but the one I’ve had was absolutely delicious! It pours a close to black body with a creamy, light-brown head. Sweet, malty and strong aroma of roasted malt, dark caramel, milk chocolate and chocolate sauce. Strong flavour of dark caramel and chocolate, with fainter notes of coffee, generic fruits, dark berries and alcohol. Moderate sweet taste with a long-lasting moderate bitter finish. Delicious mouthfeel: full body, creamy texture and moderate carbonation. A lovely brew, no matter what all you other raters say!
[50 cl bottle (5.8% ABV), enjoyed 2 years before BB date, from an Irma in the city centre of Copenhagen]

Flaske købt på Gavnø, 0,5 liter. Dufter ikke af så meget, kan ikke rigtig dufte kaffen og chokoladen, smagen er rimelig, men ikke super...

Bottle from Irma CPH - pours dark brown to black with a small diminishing head. Dark ashy malts, slight smoke, roasted, choc, slight mocca, very acidic and chemical like on the palate, cant place the taste - not very nice overall.

Bottle: Dark brown/red colour, bog head. Aroma is dominated of caramelly, coffee, dark choclate, and some vanilla. Flavor had a salty, strange mouth feeling, maybee infeckted??, thin body, some "belgian yeastynes", there fore my varys of an infeckted beer. short finish.

Bottle. Pours dark brown with a small tan head. Aroma is of malt and chocolate and so is the taste. Not what I would call a (good) stout, but not terrible either. [Backlog]

Dark-brown with lively light- brown foam. Smell of coffee, Taste of bitter full-bodied coffee. Not that bad, actually quite good but aftertaste is nothing spetacular
