COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle; Unfiltered.
Gavroche was a generous and rebellious Paris urchin and a character in the Victor Hugo (1802-1885) novel “Les Misérables.” It is also a strong, amber beer, where the flavour of its top-fermentation yeast combines perfectly with the taste of the special malts. Fermented again in the bottle, the Gavroche beer should be served with care between 10 and 12°C.

BOTM bottle. Reddish copper pour with a huge fizzy cream head. Aroma of barnyard malt and grains. Taste of hops with an oaky finish.

750ml bottle. Clear orange body, big yellow head with good retention, but almost no lacing. Aroma of grains, yeast, toffee, dried fruits. Taste is sweet and boozy: caramel, apricot and apple jam, yeast, floral hops. Medium oily body.

330ml bottle. Gushes out of the bottle. Bright amber in color with a little haze and a big slightly off-white head that leaves a little lace. Brown sugary malt and dandelions on the nose with a little underlying fruit and a hint of funk. Lively effervescence on the palate with that big brown sugar/caramel taste and a slight sweetness with some fruit esters through the middle and no real hint at the alcohol until the warming finish kicks in.

UPDATED: JUL 9, 2016 - Grain and bready sweet malts. Bit hazy copper with a rich beige head. Slight sour bitterness, caramel and bready malts, booze and fruity finish. Dry in the end and actually quite nice

Bottle. Pours an unclear red color. Aroma of malt and straw. Taste is of malt, caramel, bread, yeast, nuts, spices, fruits and alcohol. It’s a bit like an ale but a lot more tangy. Full body and so much carbonation it exploded out of the bottle. Didn’t like it much.

Pours a clouded ruby brown with minimal tan head. Nose is sugary, cherry, with a touch of wood. Flavor is smooth with a tuch of wood somewhere in there and a slight bit of caramelized sugar. Feel is great. Nice effervescence and bubbly on the tongue. Drinkable, yes. Quite good and worth going to...maybe worth going to again.

22 oz. bottle with a complicated flip top that should have come with a manual. After some quality time with a screwdriver and a corkscrew, this pours cloudy reddish brown with a generous head. Caramel, candy sugar, and maybe a little apple in the aroma. Taste starts with bread a caramel. Finish has a little smoke, more hop bitterness than I expected, and some alcohol. Nice.

MJGG (952) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - JUL 4, 2009

Bottle. Orange beer with a tall foamy head. Nice caramelly and hoppy aroma. Sweetish flavor with some nice hoppy bitterness. Medium body. Feels fizzy in the mouth.

Bottle @ Quinns. Brandy coloured with a malty off white head. Roasted malt nose. Taste of malt, nuts and caramel. Simple, but pleasant and drinkable.
