It's actually better than most of the sweet, caramely beers available in France.

Klares, dunkles Gold mit relativ wenig Schaum. Malzig, sehr süß, Honig, würzig, blumig, leicht alkoholisch.

AcctError487629 (11) - - OCT 10, 2017
UPDATED: OCT 10, 2017 Honey, a flowery aroma. Honey flavor also. Light mouthfeel, typical belgian spice.

Clear golden colour, moderate sized dense white head; aroma of grains, floral and fruity notes, as well as some spicy alcohol; taste of malty sweetness, dried apricot, caramel, some peppery notes and spicy alcoholic aftertaste; good one

17-09-2017; bottle; at home (bought at Auchan, Lille, France). The looks of the beer are nice. They aren't to special. The beer has a nice golden yellow colour and it is quite clear. A nice soft white layer of foam is formed on top of the beer. After a while a delicious creamy soft drape is left. Nice lacing is left on the glass. The smell of the beer is nice. It smells familiar. I smell some nice sweet malts together with some nice hops. The hops give nice fruity aromas, both acidic and bitter. There is also a sour-like thing going on...it is familiar but I don't know exactly what it is. I also smell a slight metal aroma, not to strong, but it is present... Not to special. The taste of the beer is fine. Not great, but definitely not bad. There are some nice sweet malts, with a touch of honey. Besides this there are nice bitter and slightly sour fresh hops, and again that slightly sour familiar thing...don't know what it is. Again there is some metal there to, a bit to much. I don't like this flavour that much. The flavours are balanced, but there is something with it that I don't like fully. There are better beers. The palate is average...medium body, slightly sticky and average carbonation. The finish is pretty much like the taste, with in the end a bit dry bitterness and some metal. All in all, not a bad beer, but not a great one. There is better on the marked I'm afraid.

Aroma 2. Appearance 3. Taste 3. Palate 2. Overall 7. Too sweet and metallic taste.

Piepenhenrich (1229) - Steinbach, GERMANY - SEP 2, 2017
Comes in 75cl bottle with cork. Well-balanced flavors which I liked, yet nor particularly outstanding.

rodenbachvintage (171) - Roeselare, BELGIUM - AUG 24, 2017
middelmatig bier, weinig tot geen nasmaak. Een bier na dertien in een dozijn. Iets te zoet & metaalsmaak naar mijn smaak.
