Rating #504, bottle from Paris, France

A golden beer with a good head. Aroma is somewhat pilsener-like from the malts, but way more hopped and has especially a lot of flowery notes, and probably some elderflower specifically. The flavor is pleasant with flowety hops, a bit berries, spices, yeast, and a good bite of bitter hops in the finish. A bit of a vinous or lagered side taste as is the point with biere de garde, but it is actually not that obvious. Sweeter and more belgian inspired than I expected from the apperance and french beer in general. Palate is thick, and all in all this is a very pleasant brew.

Drank with Lennart 16-12-2013. Golden yellow color with medium carbonation. Nice soft taste, though also a bit metally. Not very special.

Really awesome stuff. Grab a can and go for a stroll on the beach at Dunkirk. The nose is really neat, sharp and flowery with a solid malt backbone in the flavour. Clean and goes down really easy despite the alcohol. Maybe it’s a macro BDG, but damn is it a good one.

Golden with small white head. Malty and sweet (which gets a little cloying), banana, vanilla, mild hop charater. Creamy.

turbothy (1141) - Bonn, GERMANY - JUN 13, 2004
Good head retention, pours a nice amber colour. Smells very faintly of yeast. Taste is okay, but bit too fizzy and it doesn’t hide the alcohol very well.
Re-rate: Okay, it got better when not served too cold :) Better taste, not so sharp.

Aromas of fruits, yeast and cereals. Medium carbonation. Finish is long and spicy. A good "bière de garde", even if not the best one !

Not bad at all. Amber pour. Some sweet malt and little hop. Swam in lake Geneva today. Switzerland is so monied it makes you a little sick, the houses. Almost as beautiful as Domnik. Who doesn’t love the daily croissant run?

Bottle. Golden colour with a small white head. Aroma is yeast, citrus and hops. Fruity taste with notes of hops and yeast. Bitter and a bit dry finish. Medium bodied. Quite good beer.
