Deep yellow, frothy head which dissipates. Sweet and lightly spicy aroma, corriander maybe. A tad fizzy on the tongue, but otherwise pleasant sweet light malty palate. Light grainy taste, wheaty even, and a very crisp bitter finisb. Slightly alcoholic, but not imposingly so. CapedBrewsader (265) - Brasschaat, BELGIUM - FEB 4, 2008
75cl bottle: Pours a rich gold with a decent, but fading, off-white head. Aroma of sweet malts, sugar, some hop, and toast. Flavors of malt, bubblegum, earthy hop and cotton candy. A smooth graininess and alcohol come in the middle followed by toasted marshmallow. The finish is of hops and some light fruits. KimJohansen (10498) - Frederiksberg C, DENMARK - FEB 14, 2008
Golden with tiny white head. Sweet aroma with orange peel and yeasty notes. Sweet fruity flavor with caramel and hoppy notes. Ends dry. BMan1113VR (7930) - Los Angeles, California, USA - MAR 14, 2008
UPDATED: NOV 16, 2008 33cl bottle. Sweet malts, honey and flowery hops with caramel. Maybe some raisins too. Frothy white head with decent lacing. Clear body. Taste is salty and yeasty with some nuttiness and metal in the finish. Dry and fizzy. Overall nothing to really write home about.
Rerate thanks to bu11zeye. Pours a clear gold with a white head that leaves great lacing (AP:4/5). Aroma is diaceeytl, caramel, toasted bread and a bit husky towards the finish (AR:6/10). Taste is husky and vegital with DMS and diacetyl. Very off flavored, unbalanced and crude with light caramel. (F:3/10). Fizzy but smooth from the DMS (P:3/5). (Canned) Golden colored with huge white head. Sweet and spiced, fruity and somehow sour aroma with metallic hints. Medium bodied. Flavor is richer with sweet caramel and some oaky tone, also fruits, hops and mild alcohol present here. Aftertaste is hopped still with this honeyish sweetness.

Clear straw body, medium-thick off-white head. Herbal nose with spicy hops, biscuity, with dusty esters. Very dry body of modest complexity, with floral/potpourri notes, chalky esters, and biscuit. Crisp carbonation. Relatively light body finishes bitter with fairly strong alcohol notes. Mediocre. Pwn3d (1958) - Manhattan, New York, USA - APR 2, 2008
750ml bottle. Nose is almost nonexistent, pour is very clear but the taste is surprisingly yeasty with coriander and ester- clean tasting. Smooth and easy drinking. Solid but not really complex. Jerre (3858) - Waregem, BELGIUM - APR 6, 2008

Pours bright golden with some fluffy white bubbles on top. Big grassy German hop aroma with some caramel malt. Flavor follows suit, very straight forward. Sweet caramel malt and bitter aromatic German hops. Quite glassy and grassy with a bitter dry finish. Average body/palate, bigger carb bubbles. jrt (62) - USA - MAY 24, 2008
Biere de Garde? More like a rich, French Pilsener. Very soft cabonation, which is thin but retentive. Has a certain sharpness like cheddar cheese. A unique beer. Reminds me of a French cousin to Germany’s Mahr’s Pilsener. Not spicy. Just a very smooth, grassy blend of Saison and Pilsener qualities.
