Bottle, 33cl. Pink/red colour with a fine and creamy pink head that leaves a nice lace in glass. Highly carbonated. Not much aroma: something metallic(!) and also fruits (berries). Flavour is very weak. I understand that they use natural blackcurant berries but this beer is rather plain. You can sense the berries but in a very weak way. Almost like a flavoured mineral water. Not approved. Oregonian (7) - Portland, Oregon, USA - OCT 21, 2005 does not count
Poured a deep red with a fluffy pinkish-hued head. Wonderful aroma of black currant and also malt (slightly). Nice fruit flavor and slightly tart. Pleasant flavor for a fruit beer, but lacking in an appropriate body (too watery) and having a spritzy carbonation ala a commercial lambic. Ernest (7721) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - SEP 24, 2005
Bottle, Brussels, May 05.
Head is initially small, fizzy, pink, mostly diminishing.
Body is hazy medium red, bottle conditioned.
Aroma is lightly malty (toasted grain), with notes of cherry and blackcurrant.
Flavor is moderately sweet, moderately acidic.
Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter.
Light to medium body, watery texture, fizzy carbonation. mkobes (2142) - paramus, New Jersey, USA - SEP 13, 2005
Bottle. Deep cloudy red in color with no head. Thin. Not much going on here. No body. Thin palate. Artificial. Eyedrinkale (3214) - Astoria, New York, USA - SEP 12, 2005
Bottle. Cloudy raspberry color with not much body, taste or aroma, well may be some grains. Taste is artificial juice, not even syrup flavored currants. I get a dusty flavor as well. There’s somthing missing. Excuse me waitress, I think they forgot to add flavor to this beer. Thank you.

In the 330ml bottle from Dirty john’s. Pours purple with a good-sized pink head. Aroma of fruity berries, but not exactly blueberries. Thin body. Very tart palate. No sweetness, no thickness. Blueberry flavor but not much else. Quite refreshing on a warm September day. schuimkroaat (427) - Leuven, BELGIUM - AUG 25, 2005
UPDATED: MAY 6, 2006 33 cl bottle, bbe 2007. Cloudy, deep dark red with a light brown hue. Little carbonation, weak dirty white head. Cherry-like aroma, light perfumed, with herbal minty notes. Sweetish taste with mild fruit presence; light tart. Dry and bitterish finish, associating more to a residual berry taste than hops. Light body. Misses some substance, but tastes refreshing and, I believe, does contain real fruit. egajdzis (6624) - Pennsburg, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 20, 2005
Poured a reddish brown color with a medium sized, light pink head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of sweet currants, berries, grains, and yeast. Taste of sweet berries and just a touch of acidity. Not foul, but it reminded me of fruit juice, it could use more of everything. fluids (364) - Massachusetts, USA - JUL 7, 2005
It’s reminiscent of a lambic but its dry and sweet blueberry taste without the typical sour or tartness punch you come to expect from a lambic. I think that is what differentiates it from other Belgian fruit beers. DocLock (10728) - Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 27, 2005
Hazy ruby pour with creamy, light pink head. Aroma of cherries and currants. Tastes fruity, with some malt, but lacking in balance and complexity.
