Dominated by corn, perhaps a hint of other grains; quick-dying artificial head; nasty metallic bitterness hints at the end. A cult beer in some parts of the East and Midwest; just like Coors used to be a cult beer everywhere that morons lived. benzim (36) - USA - AUG 1, 2002
Good for what it is. Better than Miller or Bud. Not as good as Little Kings. Nothing offensive but nothing special. morebier4me (140) - New York, USA - JUL 23, 2002
This stuff is the s*&t, I always have this around. Shipman (48) - Spring City, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 17, 2002
It is no miller high life, but this stuff isn’t bad. It is pretty smooth and had a real amber look to it. JFGrind (2047) - Glenside, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 12, 2002
It’s been a few years since I bought a case of Genny Cream Ale. Pouring the contents of the 16 ounce returnable bottle into a mug I was surprised by the deeper than expected yellow color and full, but short lasting head. The beer itself had a creamy, easy to drink taste. There was a hint of sour in the aftertaste. I wish this beer was still available in seven ounce bottles for summer consumption. However, when you pay $12.40 for a case of sixteen ounce returnables bottles there isn’t to much to complain about.

UPDATED: NOV 25, 2003 Well this has my three way tie for worst beer in the world with beast and natty ice. A guy i knew used to microwave these things a little while, said they tasted better that way. i dont think anything can make this beer taste better. the taste is pure ALCOHOL. fizzy, alcohol. i guess the price is right, though i would never buy it. Not very ’creamy.’ The cans look like they would have oil in them, especially the old steel ones. austinpowers (2828) - San Francisco, California, USA - JUN 18, 2002
This one’s one of my faves when I’ve got to drink a cheap American Standard. It’s surprisingly pleasant, somewhat malty and is even a bit creamy. Perhaps sweeter than most. Decent. Aurelius (5335) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - MAY 22, 2002
Pretty smooth. Grainy aroma and flavor. Somewhat tart and metallic finish. Not bad for $3.50/6. krisfleet (130) - Sharon, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 26, 2002
A little better than plain Genesee. This is probably my favorite among the ultra cheap beers.
