Good example of what a traditional English ale yeast can provide in the way of fruits (currants, especially) in a light bodied, otherwise fairly neutral substrate. Some malt in aroma and taste, with hops supporting both. Sometimes a blast of DMS, at other times a more pleasant whiff. Highly drinkable, but with more character than most other fizzy mass-market beers. Seems to be at its best a little warmer than ice-cold. Don’t sell this beer short.
Can. Drank from the can. Weak aroma of hay and a barnyard, very lightly bitter, flavors of what I imagine trash to be, thin texture, light body and a brief, thin finish. Much worse than I remember. kaser (6209) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JUN 17, 2017
Way better than expected. Draft pour at twisted spoke. Golden with white head. Smells and tastes like a cream ale - weird! PatrickYEG (9) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - JUN 12, 2017 does not count
Not much taste to this Genesee Cream Ale, got to say I'm disappointed... leaves a Coors aftertaste in my mouth

This beer gots extra points for nostalgic reasons. It exemplifies true Western New York, blue collar beer.

Pale gold pour, fast disappearing head. Malt, a bit of corn, fairly light body and light carbonation. Downing a few of these with a huge plate of Anchor Bar wings used to my weekly tradition in Buffalo. Cheers to my misspent youth!

Originally rated on 1/23/2009. It pours a mid yellow, mid carbonated body, not much head. Aroma and flavor of sweet malts, no creaminess to speak of. Overall its passible but not great. gripweed57 (2301) - Hamilton Square, New Jersey, USA - APR 28, 2017
From old tasting notes. Ah, one of the beers of my youth! Medium gold with small bubbles. Moderate creamy white head. Light sweet maltiness with a wisp of hops. Tangy ale flavor is sweet and fizzy. Middle is crisp and light bodied. Finish is just plain non existent. Average flavor at a cheap price. odinstyr (794) - Hamilton, New Jersey, USA - APR 26, 2017
Pours a clear straw-gold with fizzy white head. Smell is hay, cereal, grass. Taste is mild - sweet more than bitter - cereal and grasses. A step above an adjunct lager - but not very noteworthy. crossovert (12614) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JAN 5, 2017
355ml can. Got the tick of this one in at the holiday work party. Brought it in specifically to try, just realized i forgot to rate it. It is a basic cream ale, treads on adjunct lager waters. Meh. PhatCatt (84) - Kalamazoo, Michigan, USA - SEP 17, 2016
UPDATED: SEP 20, 2016 Can poured into a dof tumbler. Light pale color. Clean, crisp tasting. Non-dairy creamer. Fairly sweet, but nothing overwhelming or gross.
