Oh goodness, how I didn’t want to try this. Pours pale gold with a fizzy, dissipating head. Aroma of nothing and corn. Flavor is surprisingly mellow-sugary, with a palate that is fuller than I expected. Overall, not a bad offering considering price, alcohol, and relatively inoffensive finish. That said, let’s not forget this is trashy beer. I MAY, if situation demanded, consider purchasing this beer again. arventresca (567) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - MAR 25, 2009
It taste twice as nice when you puke up Genny Ice. Just like its cousins it is just a macro tasting beer that is there for the sole purpose of getting trashed. Why on earth anybody making over minimum wage would by this stuff other than that is one of lifes great misteries. cheap (5913) - Beaver Valley, Beaver County, Pennsylvania, USA - FEB 14, 2009
UPDATED: JUL 16, 2011 New rate 7/2011: a little better and this time it wa in a big silver and black 24 oz can. This much better than most of the stuff from city yet its cheaper at times. Old rate:Mine was labeled as Genesee Ice. Red and white label, but not the label we see here. A big 28 oz clear tumbler of jenny ice. Looks like any other pale American lager. Cost was $1.50 for a glass bottle twist off 40. The kings measure, not liters mind you. Ooh baby, not too common around these parts. Found this at the gas station on my way to Vintage. This is not the kind of beer you’ll find at vintage. Bob was more interested in selling me EKU. There is a quarter inch creamy head on this that won’t go away. Taste is reminiscent of many ice beer but is not too offensive. Typical cheap pale lager flavor which is not too offensive. Much better than most of the beers from Milwaukee’s Melanie. Finish is a bit corny and does not have much more than a little processed feel. Overall, the session was better probably because of the 5.2% alky content. 500ml can 5.5% called Genesee Ice beer. Poured pale straw colured with small white head. Moderate grainy aroma. initial sip was metallic. Light cereal flavour. Rather light for an ice beer. Clean finish. MrManning (2009) - Hamilton, Ontario, CANADA - FEB 4, 2009
Can from a six pack at my LCBO location, store 200, London Ontario- Tagged as Genesee Premium Ice, not Genny Ice. Pale gold pour, with a medium sized white froth, leaving little lace. Nose of vegetables, mostly corn, sugars, some paper, a bit of grain. Tastes of sweet grains, sweet corn, a bit of hops towards the finish, but it isn’t something I’d recommend for a good example of the style. Finishes low on the scale in terms of flavour or body. Bah.

Can from the LCBO (under the name Genesee Premium Ice Beer). Bright golden colour with a good sized white head that stick around for a while. Aroma is sweet, with notes of icing sugar and corn. Thin bodied. Flavour isn’t nearly as bad as it could be - no off-flavours, really, just a clean and slightly too-sweet macro lager. Hell, there’s even a slight hint of hops in the finish! Not something I’ll be buying again, but it could be much, much worse. robinvboyer (4699) - Sturgeon Falls, Ontario, CANADA - JAN 23, 2009
adjuncts galore. aroma and flavor of stale cloying corn, and cheap malts. blech. Cletus (6355) - Connecticut, USA - JAN 10, 2009
Pours yellow with a thin white head. Smells of apples and skunky. Tastes sweet and peppery with a skunky finish. barncatmatt (2286) - Cambridge, Ontario, CANADA - JAN 8, 2009
473 ml can from the LCBO. an adjuct laden 5.5% lager. this can only cost me $1.75 and it was still a waste of money. i got madder and madder at myself after each sip. pale yellow with a white quickly gone head. sweet corn aroma. flavour is sweet with some alcohol agressiveness. i actually asked my sister to grab this for me because it wasnt availible iin my city. what a waste of everyones time. UPDATED: JAN 8, 2009 473mL can from the LCBO. It was new and I am a starved ratings whore so I felt compelled to try it. Basically your typical macro pale lager with slightly more to it due to a slightly higher ABV though nothing really worthy of note. Sweet corn but not as nauseating as other macro swill. I will not be buying this ever again so congratulations LCBO on regular listing yet another completely pointless and uninteresting beer product.
