Silver can purchased at Stewart’s in Long Lake, NY. Can reads "Mountain Brew Beer Ice" . Enjoyed during a long kayak ride with Eli. Pretty terrible stuff, not really refreshing. Frank (4192) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JUL 3, 2010
Man, I wish my can was as awesome as the one shown. I got this crap in simple looking black can that looks very much like a black version of the can for regular Genesee. I want one w/ a polar bear. The color here is actually a tolerable nice orange and the head lasts as a decent sized ring of foam. The nose is not so nice. It’s sort of tart and fruity in that malt liquor kind of way. Once tasted, the bitterness comes off as metallic, the carbonation fizzy and the mouthfeel thick and unpleasant. As far as American ice lagers go, it’s OK, but that isn’t really saying much at all. Golden yellow color with a very thin white head. Sweet taste with some hops in the finish. Not too bad for the price. coldbrewky (1730) - Hippetown East, New York, USA - MAY 16, 2010
Now canned under "Mountain Brew Beer Ice" for $2.99 a sixer. woo-hoo-doggy! Nose of corn and some malts. creamy and easy drinking...Dis drink Good! Nearly flat-lined as to taste, mouthfeel and finish. Why then do I have a penchant to keep consuming this brew? Even the wife stated that it looked lovely in the glass....which incidentally is too good for this beer. "Straight from the can to your liver" should be the official motto of this incomprehensible brew.

Going with the good old 40 this time. Aroma is sweet, corn, bready, with the slights amount of funk. Appearance is a clear golden with a fluffy white head. Flavor is grainy, somewhat of a aluminium taste to it, light corn notes and somewhat of a cardboard aftertaste. Overall, It’s really not that good. yobdoog (1888) - Kingston, New York, USA - DEC 23, 2009
Orange gold with a small dense head. Aroma is sweet, corny, bland. Flavor is sweet and corny and some rice. Like a cheap malt liquor. garrison (812) - Cin. city, Ohio, USA - DEC 19, 2009
I purchased a forty ounce bottle from my local Kroger’s, and can clearly state that there isn’t much to this beer. Bland tasting, very light malty aroma, I really can’t even recommend this brew to some of the ’hood wino’s (it’s only 5.6 ABV). Oh well, at least it’s something to fill out the refrigerator! yesyouam (1016) - Fairport, New York, USA - MAY 31, 2009
Genesee Ice is a clear light golden beer with a thin white head that has good lacing. The aroma is of funk, lemon and corn. It’s light bodied and quite smooth with a clean finish. It’s lightly flavored and not too funky. The flavor is mostly lemon and corn. It’s not too bad for an ice beer, but for $4.50 a twelve-pack-- you can get Genny Bock for the same price right now. Come on. puboflyons (3432) - Allenstown, New Hampshire, USA - MAY 29, 2009
From the 12 fl. oz. can no. 0779 R 14:42. The pour is sort of between pale yellow and pale gold with good clarity and lively carbonation. There is a constant puffy, white head. The aroma is a bit grassy and grainy and maybe a tad bready. A little watered down but not horrendous. The alcohol is not as evident in the taste as other ice beers I have tried and this one has a touch of the hops, corn, and a reasonable finish.
