COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Proud, headstrong, full of character. Charles V, Holy Roman Emperor, gave all these attributes to the rebellious Ghent “stroppendragers” or noose-wearers. And what goes for the people of Ghent also goes for this strong blonde beer. Nose/aromas: Relatively complex nose with hints of fruit (banana, citrus fruits), herbs, yeast, honey and sweet malt. Flavour: Refreshing in the mouth, pleasant sweet malty attack followed by hints of herbs and yeast, medium-long finish with subtle, slightly bitter touch.

33cl bottle at home. Clear golden with a full white soapy head. Medium body with light to moderate carbonation. Sweet with some herbal tones. Peach, citrus, grass and herbs. Not my brew, a tad too sweet for my taste.

Bottle. Pours hazy blonde with a large white frothy head. Hoppy floral aroma with citrus notes. Taste matches aroma, with grapefruit and yeast. dry mouthfeel that lingers. Refreshing.

Blonde voilée, effervescence moyenne, col blanc fin et léger. Malts clairs de pils, amertume de pils, un rien meilleure qu’une pils, ABV supérieur à celui d’une pils. La banalité à l’état pur...

Bottle. Full 33cl sample. The aroma is a bit grainy, citric/soapy. Hazy, yellow coloured beer with a medium, lasting, white head. The taste is sweet, almost no bitterness, pilsener malty grain, has some citrus, light earthy yeast tones. Quite some carbonation. Light-medium bodied. Bit watery finish with some hints of metal. Not too good.

Bottled 11/01/14. A blonde beer with a big bright white head. Nice yeasty and floral hoppy Belgian blonde. A good depth of flavour. Nothing outstanding just a competently brewed true to style beer.

Pours a slightly hazy yellow colour with a big white head. Aroma of malts, yeast, fruits, hops, coriander. Flavour is yeasty, fruity sweetness. Good, but rather ordinary.

Boring beer. Has nice marketing, with the beer hanging on a gallow, but the taste is uninspired.
