COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Proud, headstrong, full of character. Charles V, Holy Roman Emperor, gave all these attributes to the rebellious Ghent “stroppendragers” or noose-wearers. And what goes for the people of Ghent also goes for this strong blonde beer. Nose/aromas: Relatively complex nose with hints of fruit (banana, citrus fruits), herbs, yeast, honey and sweet malt. Flavour: Refreshing in the mouth, pleasant sweet malty attack followed by hints of herbs and yeast, medium-long finish with subtle, slightly bitter touch.

,33l pour from refrigerated bottle into glass in Almaty, Kazakhstan. Pours slightly hazy, pale gold, huge foamy head. Nose is floral, hint of fruity sweetness, hint of grass. Body is medium and smooth with a dry finish. Taste echos the nose with more sweetness up front and a slightly bitter finish. Milder than I would have expected, though, and a bit dull.

Bottle at home. Pours golden in colour with a white head. Not much aroma, some yeast and hop. Taste is slightly sweet to start, then bitter. Flavours of juicy malt and herbal bitterness. Quite delicate and floral in body, but the bitterness is a little unbalanced. OK, not great.

Pours a brilliant clear gold with voluminous aerated fluffy white head. Very belgian character in the aroma - clove, earthy funky yeast, floral honey, cracked grains and some grassy hop notes. The taste has a grainy bread maltiness, some earthy funk, light honey and candi sugar sweetness, grassy hop bitterness, spicy. Long dry finish. Light bodied and acidic bite makes it pop. Quite well balanced and enjoyable.

Clear, golden pour. Mix of grainy flavor with a tinge of sweetness. Hoppy and dry finish. Decent session brew ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours clear, golden and sparkling with a frothy white head that leaves lacing. The aroma contains cereal, grass, citrus, herbs, lemon and yeast. Medium sweet and bitter and well balanced. Some dryness in the finish. Creamy mouthfeel and fizzy carbonation. Refreshing. I like it.

DoctorHU (537) - UKRAINE - JAN 29, 2016
The aroma is not too intense, with fruity and light caramel tones, floral notes on the background a little perfume. The taste rezkovat ascorbic acidity, a small sugar-malty sweetness, fruit tones, a little butterscotch. Bitterness noticeable, but monotonous, with characteristic perfume and alcohol profile. The aftertaste sweetness becomes cute caramel-irisochnye tone, but immediately falls off, leaving reach the same intensity with wood-sour fragrance bitterness on the background.

Sweet and citrus on the nose. Taste is moderate bitter, bread, earthly, a bit sweetness. Aftertaste is bitter. Not bad, not a stunner either.

(Bottle, Lombard, Brussels, 14 Oct 2015) Golden colour with lasting, white head. Malty nose with bread, grass, citrus, pineapple and spicy hops. Malty, slightly fruity taste with notes of dried fruit, bread, some citrus, grass and a slightly metallic bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a touch of sweetness. Tasty and well balanced. Nice one.
