~Pleasant cocoa and coffee aroma with light breadiness. ~Pours pitch black with small creamy brownish white head. ~Light roasty malt flavor with coffee and dark chocolate. ~medium bodied, medium low CO2, lasting roasty finish. ~Much better than expected. Quite a nice stout. Would gladly drink this again.

Very strong chocolate notes with a good, creamy after taste. Smell is a deep dark-chocolate aroma. Excellent starter stout.

Surprisingly nice finish with a strong palate and a hoppy chocolate finish. Beer has a good deep black color with little to no opaqueness. Lacing is good but not great. Head is a nice foamy white head that quickly dissipates. Overall not a bad beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Great label, twistoff lid on fairly standard longneck. Dark, almost opaque beer. This was really pretty good for a mass market beer. Lightly sweet, buffered roast. Mouthy. Lightly clingy roast aftertaste. A great beer for the price. Trade with PorterPounder. Great Indian Summer afternoon.

Its a good beer by american standards. Its an easy stout to drink especially if you are trying to convince your friends to start drinking stouts.

tap - Pours very dark brown with a small tan head. It has a roasted malt aroma with chocolate notes. The flavor is of dark roasted malt and not much else. It’s very bubbly, medium bodied, and overall fairly good which I suppose is better than expected.

Bottle-- nicely black pour with a dark tan head. Roasted coffee in the aroma. Taste of coffee and bitter chocolate, the finish is a bit thin. Not bad. Total Wine.

Bottle from Kroger. Dark pour with a light tan head. Aroma is chocolate and kinda ashy. Taste is ashy, astringent, and burned toast.

PorterPounder (7961) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - AUG 25, 2013
Wilmington Island, Ga - Kroger Supermarket - 12 oz bottle. Dark brown pour, off white head, light lace. Aroma has some hints of coffee, bits of licorice. Full-bodied flavor with black coffee notes, some unsweetened baker’s chocolate, a touch of licorice and a finish of topsoil. Mouthfeel is thick enough. Pretty solid for a mainstream stout.
