500ml bottle from Booths Burscough, chilled and poured at home. Dark Amber colour with small off white head; nose of apple, orange, spice and sweetness; mild bitter sweet taste; caramel palate with a sweet fruity finish. Not bad at all. Hippoman (646) - Durham, ENGLAND - AUG 22, 2015
Cask from The White Lion, Disley, Cheshire, £3.10/pint.
Pours dark amber with some brown and ruby in the colour and a moderate, smooth off-white head. Aroma isn’t too pleasant, a combination of an overripe malty odour and something sharp and vaguely vinegary. Taste opens sharply bitter but there are underlying sweeter, more malty cereal notes that carry into a finish reminiscent of a stale biscuit. Not one for me. (Cask at Gallow’s Bird Real Ale Festival ’15) The beer poured mahogany coloured and clear. Its head was small, sparse and white. Aroma had malts, caramel and earth. Palate was medium bodied with low carbonation. Flavours were malts, molasses, caramel, earth and bitterness. Aftertaste was sweet, earthy and bitter. A decent ESB but both the taste and the aroma were rather mild. jookos (6973) - FINLAND - JAN 22, 2015

Aroma has bready malt and mellow roasted tones. Also nuts and toffee. Flavour has nuts, toffee, bready malt and mellow roastiness. Also hints of mint. Feels like a german dunkel.
Bottle from Cheers Liquor Store, Todmorden. Hazed amber with a lovely underlying orange citrus fruit flavour that lingers, although it feels and smells like a pale ale in texture and taste.
