Cask handpull at The Dispensary, Liverpool. As ’George Wright’s Mark’s Mild’, 3.4%. Ordered a half, but the barlord tells me pint drinkers get served first. Dark brown with a ruby hue, still, creamy light brown head, full lacing. Aroma is yeasty, card, musty, wood chip. Body us light, smooth, lowish carbonation. Taste is fairly watery, demerara, light ash, toasted brown bread, watery finish, touch of gluey hop. Served a bit cold. Very much a mild. Ok. imdownthepub (15652) - Banbury, Oxfordshire, ENGLAND - AUG 9, 2016

Cask @ Dispensary, Liverpool. Black with a creamy off-white head. Crisp ale that sinks down the palate with ease. Not high on any flavours, but certainly has an excellent texture and mouthfeel. There’s some sweetness in its nose and taste. Leighton (23093) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - MAR 22, 2014

Chestnut tinged dark brown with foamy tan head. Minimal aroma at first but red berries emerge on warming. Similarly taste rather subtle but opens up to light chocolate and dry finish.
Cask ale, half pint at The Dispensary. Dark coloured body with a deep, ruby shade. Faint, fawn-coloured head. Smell of grainy malts. Mid sweet flavour of cocoa balanced by fruity hops. Dry bitter endnots. Easy going, but does not feel that thin on the swallow (Liverpool, 09.04.2013). stravale (3150) - Co. Westmeath, IRELAND - JAN 9, 2013

It’s not retired yet it seems
Black, big ruby edges in glass, nice dense off white head
Aroma - light bitter roast, touch of spicyness, not a lot on the nose
Taste - Soft roasted malts, dab of chocolate, hint of milk sugars, bitter roast. flavour a little dull but it is 3.4%
Palate - thin to medium body, soft bitter palate. Finish as main flavour, dark malts in the linger with some soft bitter roast
Overall - OK mild, bit bitter, would prefer a little more sweetness
