UPDATED: APR 20, 2017 Serving: from tap at Prima Margherita.
Aroma: light malt and vanilla.
Appearance: average-sized, creamy, light-brown initial head with good lacing and mostly diminishing longevity. Clear, cola-brown body.
Taste: moderately sweet, roasty initial flavor and finish with long duration.
Palate: medium-to-full body, syrupy texture and soft carbonation.
Overall: excellent porter.
Black. Bold malt profile with roasted malt and chocolate. Nice bitterness from the dark malts and hops. Medium bodied. A well put together porter. Heidbummer (604) - SCOTLAND - FEB 22, 2017
Taster at taproom. Pours very deep brown/black. Aroma of charcoal, chocolate, coffee. A little thinner for the abv than I expected. Tastes nearer a black lager or IPA than pure porter, and no bad thing, Chocolate again on the taste, some burnt toast. Quite easy drinking. Good. luttonm (6158) - Seattle, Washington, USA - JAN 21, 2017

Dark brown color. Nice blend of dark caramel and medium chocolate, robust in body, bitterness and alcohol.
Draft pour pint at Rooneys, as part of my "how the hell have I not rated this" series. I remember having this beer a bunch in my freshman year of beer drinking. Enjoyed the hell out of it. Not much has changed. Jet black pour with a lasting tan head. This beer is a classic. Bold chocolate. Smooth finish. Cant believe this beer goes for aingle digit growler fills on price. Steal. Excellent.

Tap at Bud. Nutty chocolate nose, coffee. Medium body. nice flavors of coffee, chocolate, nuts. Great balance. arbine (8) - Bavaria, GERMANY - MAY 26, 2015 does not count
Smells a little dark but not really strong. Average I’d say.
Black as the night, froth like a Guinness.
Surprisingly fresh taste for a dark beer. After the first swallow, it develops a strong but never overwhelming, full and enjoyably bitter experience. Hm, also with a roast and malt component. I like it!
Aftertaste is smooth, very decent. Does not hang unpleasantly in your throat.
Overall, very good. One of the best over the last weeks.

Schooner at College Inn after mis-timing my bus transfer. Oh well, carpe diem (noctum? Wish I knew Latin). Clear cola color, some head, irregular lacing. Some sweetness, but much more on the nutty, roasty side of the spectrum. Robust, with medium body and slick texture. Solid brew.
