On tap at Washington Brewers’ Fest. Pours black with a small tan head. Huge aroma of chocolate, coffee, and oatmeal. Tastes the same but not as overpowering. Full-bodied with a roasty chocolate finish.
Brown black looks great on nitro. Very chocolatey, high residual sweetness.

Growler from Georgetown, served in a tulip glass. Pours thick heavy dark brown with medium dark mocha head that laces well. Aroma is big, rich milk chocolate nibs. Candied cherries; as well a a bit of espresso and dark roasty chocolate malts. Taste is huge rich Belgian chocolate up front, big charred malts come on mid palate, dry espresso notes stand out in the finish. Incredibly thick, creamy mouthfeel. Super rich, though still easy drinking. Hard to find fault with this... if anything, perhaps too much chocolate relative to the other expected stout flavors, and could use some barrel-aging to balance it out. Aroma: not a lot,some toasted grains
Taste: very good, taste like the Georgetown 18 lb
Mouth feel: creamy
Overall: very good beer, ok to repeat

On tap at bier thirty pours out black topped with a tan head. nose is sweet milk chocolate some coffee and plenty roast malts. taste is more of the heavy milk chocolate sweetness along with some ashy notes.

On cask at Washington Brewers Cask Festival, pours black with a small beige head. Nose brings out light cocoa and a little lactose. Flavour is kind of bland for an impie stout, with light cocoa and not much else. Surprisingly muted for the style. Inoffensive but just missing some oomph. Draft at College Inn to help me focus on writing this damned paper. Clearly it’s working because I am writing something here ... Anyway, picture perfect stout pour: opaque, nearly black with an inch of dense creamy brown head; great lacing. Aroma: chocolate covered cherry licqeur. Roast present, but mostly fruit smothered under layers of chocolate. Taste: somewhat sweet up front, roast bitter finish; slightly astringent; lasting roasty finish. On tap barrel aged version specialy brewed for AFK tavern elves vs dwarves night. Pours a dark brown color with a medium tan head that leaves good lacing. Smells of chocolate, roasted malt, and oak. Tastes of chocolate, vanilla, oak and roasted malt. Mouthfeel is creamy and chewy with a thick oily texture. This was really good, reminded me of a hershey special dark bar with slight oak flavor. Too bad thisvis only a one time thing. I was glad I was able to try it.
