Ansprechend, oberes Mittelfeld. Test vom 13.1.2007, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 9,10,11,13,11,12 - 11,35

Shakesbeere (219) - Oxford, Oxfordshire, ENGLAND - MAR 25, 2011
0.5L bottle in Berlin. Pours a dark caramel brown. Smells of roasted malt and caramel. Tastes of roasted malt, caramel, and molasses with a bitter background. Finish is a balance between bitter and brown sugar. Pretty good.

Oakes (17831) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - MAR 18, 2011
Ruby-brown colour. Rich thick bock, treacly tones, very chocolatey and earthy. Very nice - there’s some firm alcohol on the nose, not as much as on the palate.

Enjoyit (3809) - Vadum, DENMARK - MAR 11, 2011
Clear copper of color with an off white head. An aroma of alcohol, toffee and weak prunes. A flavor of sweet malt, prunes and toffee.

Grima (2394) - Merzkirchen, RLP, GERMANY - JAN 22, 2011
Beautiful dark brown color, cream-like head. The smell is rather reserved. Malty sweet and subtly roasty. It starts strong malty, with a nice sweet flavor. The aftertaste is roasty and almost a little chocolatey. Reminds partly to a good Stout. Fabulous Bockbier!

phredrik (1024) - Copenhagen (formerly Aalborg), DENMARK - OCT 23, 2010
Amber brown, light tan head. Aroma has caramel, yeast sweet, faint berry, light roast. Taste is caramel, faint cocoa, maybe prunes, slightly bitter.

Smaken blir i søteste laget. Karamell. Uvariert og litt kjedelig.

Embrouille (2854) - SWITZERLAND - JUL 19, 2010
Bottle 50cl. Ordered from www.bierzwerg.de. Very true to the style. Malt accented, low bitterness with pumpernickel and caramel apparent throughout. I prefer the taste over the aroma. Not really my kind of Doppelbock.

Rune (12991) - Tromsø, NORWAY - MAY 31, 2010
500ml swingtop bottle bought at Bier Spezialität Laden, Berlin. Decent beige head atop of a deep mahogany body. Smell of sweet earthy malts. Roasted, mid-sweet malts, including grainy chocolate, to the taste buds. Finish with a dry, malt-fruity touch. So and so (shared with Finn, Tromsø 26.05.2010).

Christian (13680) - Odense, DENMARK - JUL 27, 2009
Amber with a small white head. Aroma of grain, straw and a littl caramel. Sweet grainy malt flavour
