Pre-pour thoughts....Again, after my previous attempt vanished into the black web.....My previous experiences with Ghost River has been below average at best. I’m going into this with an open mind. I noted this was first brewed for what I’m guessing is a minor league baseball team. I’m hoping that this attempt in turn was given more effort.

Pours a very clear auburn, amber, copper, bronze color. Any of those colors would describe it. About one finger tan head. Okay retention, light lacing. Did I mention how clear it is? Very pretty.

Aroma is toasted malts. Caramel sweet. Touch of smoke. Touch of burning leaves. Touch of nut shells. Very light, but smells great.

Taste is sweet, malty. Caramel. Smoke, light earthy and floral hops.

Mouthfeel is medium bodied. Lightly carbonated. Soft, smooth. A touch bitter, but I can’t tell if it’s from hops or alcohol.

Overall, they nailed it. One of the best Irish Reds I’ve had. Yes, In would recommend this and yes, I would buy it again.

Lovely red color. Caramel thick on the palate. Light bakery nose is super enticing. One of the best reds ever! Bottle at Flight, Memphis, TN.

Bottle at the hotel in Natchez, MS - picked up at the Walgreens in West Memphis. Pours clear reddish gold with a fizzy, off-white head. Earthy and leafy hops in the nose, some toasted grains. Light sweet flavour with grainy malts, more earthy and leafy notes, some orange peel, leathery berries. Light to medium bodied with average, fizzy carbonation. OK balance in the finish, with further grains, lightly toasted bread, some toffee. Decent stuff overall.

chucklemation (1683) - Royal Oak, Michigan, USA - MAR 28, 2016
Pours a light amber with a thin white head. Aroma is light amber and floral hops. Flavor is a more bland amber. Kind of a plain, boring amber. Just ok.

The beer pours a clear copper color with a medium-sized cream-colored head. The aroma blends cereal malt,, toasted malt, hay, caramel, and a subtle cocoa note, and the taste is slightly bitter and slightly sweet with the dominant flavors being earthy and caramel. The aftertaste is quite malty with some hop flavor lingering. The mouthfeel combines a medium-light body, light carbonation, and a slick texture.
