2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle (brought back by a friend to NZ). More malt driven, with light caramel flavour, with herbacous notes from the hops. A little light on the palate, but refreshing.
Craft beer to attract Bud drinkers, I guess. Pours a bright gold, decent head, no lace. Aroma is lager-like, corn and wheat, not all that appealing. Taste lands straight in pale lager territory, mild corn-wheat sweetness mixing with yeasty bread and no hops whatsoever. Feel is decent, but nothing else is. Give it to your uncle when he visits and bitches about all the "weird beer" in your fridge. solidfunk (9016) - Washington D.C., Washington DC, USA - FEB 19, 2017

Bottle at the hotel in Jackson - picked up at Walgreens, West Memphis. Pours clear yellow-gold with a fluffy, white head. Simple bready pale malts in the nose, a little straw. Light sweet flavour with hints of floral hops, crispy cereal, white bread, a little meringue. Light bodied with average carbonation. OK balance on the finish, with more crispy cereal, pale bread, biscuit, hay. An easygoing golden. northropfrye (3643) - Steinbach, Manitoba, CANADA - MAR 29, 2016

January 5th, 2014 - Ghost River’s Golden Ale is a lighter take on the style than its Belgian cousins, both in appearance where it glows with a wan yellow energy, and dances with bubbles - and in the nose, where I catch the lightest scents of apple and baking spices, more akin to a cider than a beer. The carbonation is strong, masking some unwelcome corniness, but also making wha little faded and tired apple and pear flavors can be pulled from the brew. The aftertaste is short, ending with an angel food cake taste, but the rest of the brew’s taste is best described as both mild and mostly flavorless.
