COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The recipe for this malty, caramel holiday beer was passed down to the brewer by Old Man Gower. According to the brewer, "It was Christmas Eve in the drunk tank. An old man said to me, ’Won’t see another one’. And then we sang a song, The Rare Old Mountain Dew. I turned my head away, and he told me about this brew."

"Ruby amber pour. Full flavored. Medium bodied winter warmer. Caramel is the main player, but the hops are floral and quite pleasant. Roasted malts and slight bitterness give this beer great balance."

Past notes. On tap. Colour...slightly hazy brown with a thin head. Nose...holy Jimmy Stewart! This smells line Bedford Falls on a Christmas cookie high!! Loads if spice, especially allspice and ginger, with doughy notes too. Palate..."Mr. Gower?! Mr. Gower??!! Don’t you know me??! It’s me! Ginger Cookie!" And plenty of ginger cookie there is, as well as pepper nuts and lebkuchen. This is like a Christmas cookie in a glass! Not that there’s anything wrong with that! Fruitcake fills in the gaps and sugar plums dance in your head as the sweetly spicy experience continues.

On draught at Gigantic. The aroma is that of a gingerbread cookie. The taste is of an aromatic ginger ale. Finishes like a holiday cookie.

Growler. Deep mahogany brown with a foamy khaki head that fizzes out rather quickly. Aroma of toffee, pie spice, alcohol and graham cracker. Flavor is sweet caramel malt, zesty spice, dark fruit and a slight alcohol warming. Medium body with average carbonation. Nice beer, the spices are a bit strong but not too overwhelming.
