Bottle - Dirty earthy notes. Cloudy dark brown with a small white head. Mushroom and earthy notes. Very odd. Oakes (18543) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - APR 27, 2017
Dark brown. Thin head. Sweet...toffeeish depth is nice. Has a really soft body. Not much saison to this. Good black malts. A touch more in the way of dark fruits and you’d have a really good old ale. furthur (1225) - Eagle River, Alaska, USA - MAY 1, 2016
Bottle, clear deep brown beer, brown sugar colored head. Aroma molasses, plums, toasted barley, broiled fruit. Taste is brown sugar, cherries, plums, coffee, vanilla, hint of black pepper. Palate is sorta light, yet creamy like nitro, carbonation is subdued for a saison. This is almost a stout, but just slightly sour, and I think I love it... Sledutah (7790) - Utah, USA - FEB 26, 2015

Bottle, hotel tasting, RBWG Tampa 2015. Dark clear brown color. Aroma of sourdough brownies. Taste is funky cocoa. OK.

Bottle shared late night during RBWG 2015. Pours Deep brown with a creamy tan head. Well toasted malts in the aroma, light cocoa, burnt cereal. Medium sweet flavor with basic milk chocolate, low bitterness. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. More toasted cereal on the nose, dusty chocolate, burnt leaves. Not bad. 22oz bottle, tasted during RBWG hotel tasting. Dark brown, reddish color. Thin off-white head. Some ropes and bits of lace. Surprisingly dark for a saison. So I suppose it’s a "black saison". Dark fruity, some dark chocolate, tobacco, herbal, and kind of papery musty aroma unfortunately... Not crazy about that latter part. Medium to bigger body. Lighter, kind of crisp carbonation. Mild slick. OK, interesting to try, but it seems like a less-than-fresh bottle. djd07 (15341) - Houston, Texas, USA - FEB 16, 2015
Bottle. Pours a cloudy brown with small beige head. The aroma is roasted malt and chocolate. Thin mouthfeel with roast, molasses, chocolate with a light dry finish. Decent.

Pours brown lemonadey - dark but bright in colour, visible carbonation and a neat off white head. Nose is cheap sugary bakery and a heft dusting of brown sugar. No escaping the plummy/raisin dark sweetness on the initial taste, lightly sweet but more chewey wholesome with it being so up front. This smooths out the rest of the taste, doesn’t really prick up in bitterness at any stage although the carbonation does it’s best. Finish is blended choc drink, very clean and a tad unsatisfying on the linger - but at best very drinkable for an odd high ABV saison. slowrunner77 (12586) - Reno, Nevada, USA - SEP 18, 2014
Bottle, Alps Game Tasting
"Dark brew, aroma full of cherries and chocolate, plum and spice. The strength shows a little, but it’s not hot. Ends up being a tasty blend of fruit spice ad cocoa in equal measures."
