Quevillon's rating

3.7
Quevillon (3063) - Boisbriand, Quebec, - JUN 2, 2013
Drank from a bottle at the 20th Mondial de la Bière, May 30, 2013. Black, no head. Aroma of smoked malt, spicy herbs and small ripe fruit. Taste of dark malt, a little smoky, notes of grapes, sweet finish. This beer is as funky as the label!

tricksta_p (4560) - Steenwijk, NETHERLANDS - JUN 8, 2017
From tap at Gigantic Brewing, Portland. Aroma is dark roasted malt, soft fruity notes, chocolate, hint of yeast, some pine resin. Flavour is moderate sweet and bitter. Body is medium. Only getting a hint of the Saison yeast character, it’s more like a very soft fruity hop Stout. Starts out a bit modest but yields more character down the road.

wombat23 (1362) - Texas, USA - JUN 6, 2017
Bottle. Pours dark brown with a creamy beige head. Aroma of roasted malt and chocolate. Taste is roasted malt, chocolate, mushroom, dark red berries, earth, wood. Labeled as an Imperial Black Saison on the bottle. Hmmm. Don’t know about that. It’s unique, but definitely not saison-like.

fiulijn (20427) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - MAY 2, 2017
Draught at Alibi Room, Vancouver; 8% ABV
Black color with creamy beige head. Solid dark beer, with strong chocolate and malt flavor, not ashy, with mild earthy character that is possibly from the "Saison" yeast.
Round beer, well constructed, very pleasant.

dfearnley (2071) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - APR 30, 2017
Malty, yeasty, wheaty taste. Lemony, wheaty and yeasty aroma. Hey now...nice one. Enjoyed very much.

Ferris (15020) - Burnaby, British Columbia, CANADA - APR 28, 2017
Bottle - Dirty earthy notes. Cloudy dark brown with a small white head. Mushroom and earthy notes. Very odd.

3.8
Oakes (17274) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - APR 27, 2017
Dark brown. Thin head. Sweet...toffeeish depth is nice. Has a really soft body. Not much saison to this. Good black malts. A touch more in the way of dark fruits and you’d have a really good old ale.

4.3
furthur (1167) - Eagle River, Alaska, USA - MAY 1, 2016
Bottle, clear deep brown beer, brown sugar colored head. Aroma molasses, plums, toasted barley, broiled fruit. Taste is brown sugar, cherries, plums, coffee, vanilla, hint of black pepper. Palate is sorta light, yet creamy like nitro, carbonation is subdued for a saison. This is almost a stout, but just slightly sour, and I think I love it...

3.7
Sledutah (7491) - Utah, USA - FEB 26, 2015
Bottle picked up at Yokes in Richland
Dark brown with a medium sized tan head, some lacing. Aroma of toasted malts and chocolate. Flavors of roasted malts and pine
Nice

Travlr (24307) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - FEB 21, 2015
Bottle, hotel tasting, RBWG Tampa 2015. Dark clear brown color. Aroma of sourdough brownies. Taste is funky cocoa. OK.

3.5
Leighton (21087) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - FEB 20, 2015
Bottle shared late night during RBWG 2015. Pours Deep brown with a creamy tan head. Well toasted malts in the aroma, light cocoa, burnt cereal. Medium sweet flavor with basic milk chocolate, low bitterness. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. More toasted cereal on the nose, dusty chocolate, burnt leaves. Not bad.
