Bottle. Pours a murky dark brown color with a small tan head. Nose is kind alcohol with a big heavy sweet malt note of sugars and maple. Palate is thick with a nice bite and a dry finish. Flavors of molasses and caramel with sap notes and light fruits.

Taster at The Mondial de la Biere in Montréal. The color is a dark brown with a thin beige head. The aroma is very sweet fruity and malty. The taste is of roasted malt also the taste of plums. Pours a dark amber brown, with a thin light head. Princess, currants, barley and chocolate in the nose. Flavors of raisin, chocolate, barley notes, and some spice. Overall a good Belgian be, doesn’t have the overwhelming yeast notes, let’s the other ingredients come through.

Pours a rye bread brown with a etched surface of toasted cream foam. Smells of wood, hazelnuts, some grain, some flour, a bit of prune. Bitter, with some toasted grains, some dry charred character, a little bit of clove and alcohol. Medium on thin with moderate carb and a wet finish. Bottle from 16 Tons Taphouse, Eugene. Pours a very dark reddish brown, decent amount of tan head. Aroma dried cherries, plums, a robust and sweet maltiness, maybe even some chocolate. Bottle: I can’t believe how impressed I was over this beer... had a disappointing experience with the Time Traveler, but this blew me away. An amber brown pour with a modest beige head, leads to an aromatic nose of sweet Belgian sugars, yeast, berries, and chocolate. Mouthfeel is a nice weight and the flavors come through bold and balanced. Chocolate, faded citrus hops, caramel, yeast, and Belgian sugars again. Bottle - Dark fruit, brown sugar, bit of alcohol. Dark mahogany with a thin brown head. Rasin, prune, lots of sugar and very boozy. A nice stong, but a bit too much booze.
