Bottle. Dark amber with a medium head that diminished quickly. Medium aroma of hops and malt. Medium body. Medium flavor of malt and spice with a short finish.

Dogbrick (14391) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - JAN 2, 2003
Another 77 cent beer courtesy of Trader Joe's. This isn't nearly as bad as Frugal Joe's Ordinary Beer, but it isn't winning any awards either. Pours nice enough, a dark orange with a medium thin albeit quickly dissipating head. Quick lacing. Aroma has a hint of hops. Flavor is fairly bland with a somewhat sour finish, which is too bad because it kept the beer from being solidly average. Don't bother.

Drake (14358) - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - JUN 10, 2009
12 ounce bottle from Trader Joe’s in Short Pump, VA. Pours a clear copper color with a medium head. Good head retention and lacing. Aroma is grainy toffee with a bit of nuttiness. Taste is caramel, toffee, bread and a nutty finish. No real hop notes to speak of. Medium bodied. Decent beer.

slowrunner77 (13418) - Reno, Nevada, USA - SEP 27, 2016
old school TJ’s beer from back in the day - just filling in backlog. Light malt and toast with little hops presence. Light in body bordering on watery. $1 single was worth while on occasion.

Clear amber with a one finger tan head. Good retention. Aroma is caramel and grain. Lots of lacing remains on the glass. Earthy, dry, roasted flavors. Metal. Dry bitter aftertaste. Moderate effervescence.

Ughsmash (7502) - Pewaukee, Wisconsin, USA - JAN 5, 2007
Bottled. Clear lighter amber pour with a tall cap of rather creamy off-white head. Soft caramel and faint tart lemony-wheat notes on the aroma giving an easy and inviting aura. Flavor was of lemon-accented sweet caramel and pale malts... mild floral and wheaty bitterness. A tad rough around the palate and grainy, but maintained its composure respectably.. lighter-bodied. Decent drink.. the "Pale Lager" category doesn’t appear accurate.

When this beer is first poured, it looks and smells like it is going to be a good beer, but the main thing that this beer left after drinking it is the horrible metallic aftertaste. This aftertaste was confirmed by other people who drank this with me. Apparently, if you eat candy and drink this the taste is mitigated, but unless you do that I do not suggest this beer at all. Maybe it was just the sixer that I had, but that is the only way I can rate this beer.

vyvvy (6955) - St. Louis, Missouri, USA - APR 22, 2006
Pours clear caramel with an off-white head. Aroma was roasted caramel malts with some sweetness. Medium bodied and moderate carbonation. Taste was roasted malt with sour caramel aspects. The finish starts spritzy and and then turns sour further down the glass. An okay beer. Nothing to get excited about, but its doesn’t cost much.
