Clear pale copper. Caramel and yest in the nose and on the tongue. Very light hops at the finish. Just OK. heemer77 (5358) - Urbandale, Iowa, USA - JUL 16, 2006
Very vigorous action with the carbonation. The bubbles went crazy. The head was a light tan color and complimented the medium copper colored body. The aroma had some boozy notes of caramel and a bit of grapefruit. The taste had some decent notes of toasted bread and some toffee. There was also dank orange peel and some minerals in the finish. A decent beer. Panzuriel (2306) - Westerville, Ohio, USA - DEC 15, 2006
Hazy medium amber liquid with a fine head of white foam. Nose is malty and a little acrid. Body is medium, nice hop notes. finish a little dry. not bad. bseribeer (128) - Illinois, USA - FEB 4, 2011
Pours a copper or amber color with a medium head. Aroma of light caramel. Taste is somewhat malty with a dry finish. Light hops flavor as well. Smooth on the palate with light fizz. Ultimately a very drinkable lager, but would get lost in the shuffle. Drew (2411) - Kent, Ohio, USA - JAN 4, 2004
Pleasant caramel and toffee malts. Palate was thin and very foamy - took away all of the good flavors.
ABUSEDGOAT (2771) - California, USA - JUL 29, 2005
Pours a light amber body with a moderate head. Aroma is malty and basic. Flavor is smooth caramel and toffee. There is a lingering aftertaste. Finishes sweet, and is very easy to drink. phishpond417 (2088) - Madison, Wisconsin, USA - JUN 4, 2008
This beer pours a nice amber body with a plentiful white head. Nice creamy texture with plenty of caramel aroma and taste. It was a pretty nice beer for the price. smcolw (617) - Boston, Massachusetts, USA - APR 10, 2009
A drinkable lager that is relatively non-descript. Light copper in color, the aroma is predominately caramel malt reminiscent of Dos Equis.
The flavor is more caramel with a slight hop finish. Full-bodied and crisp, Gila Monster fits into the Oktoberfest/Vienna category well. Pleasant and subtle, this is a beer that is satisfying, but not very special. nuplastikk (6313) - Madison, Wisconsin, USA - DEC 25, 2009
Filtered red-amber color. Fluffy off-white head. Mild non-aroma, light toasty malt I guess. Straightforward light to medium body maltwise, very easy and drinkable. Displays a decent bitter hop balance, nothing spectacular certainly. Preferable to a lot of macro swill, but still mediocre at best. Cornfield (5569) - Oak Forest, Illinois, USA - JAN 9, 2006
Hazy amber with a tall, frothy & bubby light beige head that laces as it quickly fades, leaving island-like clumps of foam floating upon the top of the drink. The aroma is sweet malts with a fruity overtone. The flavor is nice and malty, but any hopping is negligible. It the finish is malty sweet with a slight metallic bitterness. Not sure why this is a "Pale Lager" when it comes across more like an American dark
