On tap at the brewpub. Arrives an opaque brown with a thin off-white head that faded after the first sip and leaves no lace. Pleasant aroma of malt and toasted whole wheat bread. The flavor is toffee and pears, with more pears than toffee. Very mild bitterness at the finish. Medium bodied. No problems. NPRugby11 (219) - New York, USA - MAY 7, 2009
Pint glass at the restaurant, I could smell it from across the table, very strong caramel/stout scent. It basically looked like a wheat beer w/ black food coloring, and tasted like a lighter Guinness, not bad really j12601 (13298) - Poughkeepsie, New York, USA - APR 24, 2009
On tap at the Gilded Otter. Pours a hazy chocolate brown with a thin white head. Aromas are sweet and full of toffee and fruit. Medium bodied with a good bit of sweet fruity wheat flavors. Light finish with a touch of banana and yeast.
